I think I'll role with Tigam on this, and say the Matrix is my favorite action movie. However, my favorite action/drama has to be the first three (original) Star Wars.

Best Drama, haven't got a clue, maybe Enemy of the State.

Best Comedy is easy: Happy Gilmore. Hilarious.

I agree with you on lord of the rings. The movies are too long in my opinion, they don't keep my attention very well. I think its a pretty overated series.

Hard to say for me... I'm a bit of a movie buff, so here it is off the top of my head:

Best Action Flick IMO: Die Hard - it set a new standard for action films

Best Drama Flick IMO: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Best "who done it": the Usual Suspects (with Sneakers as a close second)

Best Comedy Flick: Sleeper

Best European Comedy/Action: Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

Best Martial Arts Flick: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (may be the obvious choice, but it's soooo good), though Huo Yuan Jia (Fearless) was pretty damn good

These could change in the next fifteen minutes.

Chances are that someone isn't intelligent because they don't like a certain movie? I can appreciate the work that went into making the flick, but I didn't love it.

Some people just are not into movies about the whole Hobbit, Wizard, Elf, Dwarf, etc thing. People have different tastes, so to say that (chances are) someone isn't intelligent because they don't like a movie is a stretch IMO.

Appreciating a movie and liking/enjoying it can be different. There are lots of movies I appreciate (for various reasons), but it doesn't necessarily mean that I like them.

I guess maybe just some people aren't intelligent enough to NOT WATCH a movie they already KNEW they wouldn't like. If you know you aren't into the elf, hobbit, Wizard, Dwarf etc stuff THEN WHY WATCH THE MOVIE..

Did you NOT KNOW what the movie would be about? I mean I don't go watch love story movies because I KNOW it's not my thing, I DONT LIKE those movies.. I'm intelligent enough to know that if I do watch one I will HATE it.

I don't go watching them and then come and post that they were STUPID or the worse movie ever because that would be WRONG.. it may be the BEST love movie ever.. I just don't like love movies, so for me to bring my bias of all those type of movies and watch it and then post that it was stupid... that is STUPID.

It's one thing to not like a certain genre of movie.. but if you don't like them, THEN DON'T FRIGGEN WATCH THEM.

If you watch it and then say it sucked.. Then you are just friggen STUPID.
