Apocalypto
Yeah, its old news...But I just watched it for the first time yesterday. I have to say, I loved it.
I loved the whole thing, the fact it was subtitled made me think twice before watching it, but it would have been messed up if it was in English, wouldnt have been right.
Anyway, I just really enjoyed the whole thing, the quality of the acting was hard to judge as its not my language, but the quality of the cinematography, the script and storyline was pretty flawless.
There were a few great lines, even tho they were subtitled.
The mystery of the whole thing (trying not to give it away for those who havent seen it) followed by the fulfilment of the girls prophecy...I dont know, I just liked how the whole thing worked, and the general nature of the movie.
I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
Wondering anyone else's thoughts?

Honestly, I went to see it when it was in theaters, I haven't seen a better movie in a long time. I was blown away, the story just grabbed you and you forget about the subtitles really quickly, that's a good sign. Very very well done movie.

Yeah I watched this a little while ago as well. Like titans I was a little hesitant when it was subtitled, but I'm glad I went.

One thing I didnt get tho...And this is a spoiler for anyone who hasnt seen it...
You know the guy who initially wanted to pass thru with his tribe...The one looking for a new beginning (who then appears in his dream). Why was he moving? I was thinking it was the tribe that eventually burnt down the main guys village...But he then turned up with them as a captive later on...So it cant have been..As they dont let people go...
Just wondered other peoples takes on this if they remember..

I just figured the "tribe who burnt the village" had caught upto the "tribe who wanted to pass through" and took them (or at least some of them) as captives as well.

But why were they moving in the first place?

It's been a little while since I've seen it, but I think they were moving because the bad tribe attacked their village and they had escaped, so they were fleeing. Then yeah, the bad tribe eventually caught up to them after they burned the main characters' village down.

Ahh, thats what I suspected, but they looked to much like a group of wusses to have escaped the "bad tribe"..

My guess/thoughts would be that they got some sort of advanced warning and were able to get a head start.

Well I think I recall them being all bloody and beaten, so I'm guessing they were escapees.

Yeah, now you mention it, I think they were. Seems to make sense. Tho they didnt let anyone escape in the "main tribe" is all...
