Eh i dont like spiders or heights either... I just rode my first roller coaster in a while over the summer. Im telling you im a big wuss when it comes to those things.

Ah it's ok. Heights don't get to me at all but I don't like going on Roller Coasters that have the biggest drop ever (Not because the heights but the feeling). But then again i like going on Drop Zones though. It's just the hills.

On topic to American Gangster. I really enjoyed the film, I enjoy organised crime related movies (and can see why you categorised this with movies such as Goodfellas), and though Rick says otherwise, I think you can compare them. It might have been a different type of organised crime (though not that different) and black rather than Italian, but ultimately, its a gangster movie. Different sub genre

Good overall film, but if you are gonna compare, it ranks below Godfather I and II, Goodfellas, Scarface, Casino and company as far as gangster movies go. Done well to be mentioned in the same breath as those though.

I missed your point about different movie period, and I agree with you on that Rick.

But myself, I still think of Casino with the classics, and that was made in 97 if I remember correctly. Of course, that could be because of how well they scripted in the actors such as De Niro and Joe Pesci amongst others.

Indentical? No. Comparible? Yes, imo.
