I wanted to bring this back for some of use to read. I personally like most the NFL Icon role... 1+ awareness for all players on the side of the ball the Icon plays, really a nice effect the Icon player has on your team. And I have 2 of them, one for the Offense (FB Jamal Lewis) and one ofr the Defense (MLB Spikes)

Those are for Madden 07, Esi.
Madden 08 will have Weapons, kind of taking the place of 'roles'. A more useful version of roles, I would say.
Makes me kind of wonder in that sense, what it will take to get weapons this year also.

I think I like the weapon system better, but I havent played 08 yet so who knows how it really is.

I agree, from the sounds of it the weapons sound as if they'll be better and with (at least) five available to some positions it seems to give the different kinds of players their own uniqueness.
Some of the '07 ones mention how they can be gained...though hopefully someone from EA can provide the answers for '08 in this respect somewhere on the 'net.

I also prefer the weapons, last year the roles weren't as pronounced but the weapons are more incorporated into the gameplay. It was a Good idea.

Yeah... Bought the Xbox version today... I don't know if we're going to bother getting around to playing it for a couple days. Sad really.

Oh, i saw you said only 2 person co-op on next gen and im wondering why on the back of the 360 box it says 1-4... Do you know what game/mode is 4 players?
