My True concerns
Washington Redskins. With a $42 million cap hit next year, and they still have players like Rolle and Spings on the trade block...those guys have huge cap hits. Does the owner know that cap penalties WILL NOT be cleared at the end of the season?
I know that when the new owner got here, the Skins were already screwed up, but to go and trade Portis and to dig yourself deeper. The team will not have money to sign their draft picks next year.
What is going to happen with this team??

They are going t obe destroyed.. but Hunter said he would stick with them no matter what.. so We will see... if hunter quits I will fix the redskins before they are given a new owner, and maybe I will just leave them CPU controlled forever after that.

I brought this same concern up with Swoosh this morning. 42 million is a good part of the salary. With several players having big contracts and big signing bonuses this team is in a horrible situation. They will probably have to release players to get under the cap next season and those players might very well be players that have a huge signing bonus. This team looks to be in trouble not just this season but the next season as well.
Its great the have accumlated 6 number one picks over the next two seasons, but will they be able to sign them?

I asked this question yesterday at TS too after seeing also the Portis trade... How in hell will he ever get out of cap trouble?? he will have to relase players every single season too make place for draft picks and own FAs.
Thats like a boomerang always coming back. You throw it away and it comes back again and again...
But now i know how this will end and solved, it is again a work for Cash...

hopefully he can turn it around with those picks. If I wasn't a big Miami fan I would take on the task of turning that team around.

signing draft picks isn't that expensive in Madden compared to the real NFL. He'll just have to make some appropriate cuts. and deal with it for one year till he gets the cap space back next year

Hmm....
Lets see... 42 million... Lets say the cap goes up like it did last year... 15 mil increase. It'll be more like 17-18 I think, but we'll use 15 to cover players increase in salary every year. 42 - 15 = 27 million over. Who to release, and who's contract is up?
Contracts on their last year:
Ladell Betts HB -- 960k
Pete Kendall LG -- 5.50 million
Derrick Dockery LG -- 490k
Khary Campbell MLB -- 420k
Ryan Clark FS -- 420k
Saved if they don't resign... 7.79 million.
Skins will be low on safety's, but they have 6 corners. Just convert them over. And they are pretty cheap.
Still that's 19.21 million they still have to clear...
Releases likely to meet that....
London Fletcher MLB -- 4.72 mil
Mark Brunell QB -- 3.8 mil
Samari Rolle CB -- 5.48 mil
Shawn Springs CB --3.83 mil
LaVar Arrington ROLB -- 5.61 mil
Chris Samuels LT -- 4.60 mil
John Hall K -- 1.36
10.19 million under the cap. Enough to sign the young players in the draft. Cap hits in there will hurt the next year t be sure... But not as much as the hurt his year. Combine that with a another increase in Cap...
And all the above players that have more than a year contract on, could also be traded for cheap players of lesser value combined with picks. Who here wouldn't give up a little 'something something' for the likes of some of those starters?
Anyway, I'd do something like that... It's just ramblings I did on the fly, if I had the team I'd put a bit more thought into it.
