Ok WEBBC POSTED some sliders to use so I am going to use them he says they are hard I want to see just how hard. I've missed playing some madden so here and there I will play a game in this new Franchise and it will be tracked probably both here and on my site at dallascowboysonline.com
I miss playing so I might as well track it. I will air my games over TS and on the Cam for those who may want to see... of course there won't be a whole lot of them as the league will be going on at the same time and I don't have a lot of time for this sort of thing, but, what the hay.
I want Realism (By this I mean that I won't cheat the system, it does not mean that I only want Cowboys Players on my team) with this so I will try to keep the trades to a minimum other than a few guys that gotta go like testeverde and eddie george LOL. I will do those trades now and then post them here.
In a surprising twist, the Dallas Cowboys New Owner Cashpath announced that the Yak'd Tongue Wonder himself Quincy Carter has been traded for. The Cowboys gave a few picks to the Jets for Carter to return to thier team.
"I spoke with Coach Parcells, and together we decided that we could make this work. We want to win this year, and we feel Carter gives us a better chance at this than either Henson or Testeverde did."- Cash

if carter gets hurt let henson play. testaverde is on his last leg so it was smart to bring back in a young guy, as long as he can keep his head on straight.
Good luck Cash

HOUSTON TEXAS-After a long offseason and big changes in Dallas including but not limited to a new owner purchasing the team after the untimely demise of Jerry Jones in a freak chimpanzee incedent, many Cowboys fans showed up in Houston to watch thier team in thier first action this year.
If those fans came out to critisize or scrutinize Quincy Carter, or the trade for him they had to leave the game with foot in mouth. Carter was one of the only bright spots in this game. Along with sparks from Jason Witten, Bradie James, and Keith davis. Along with SOLID play from Billy Cundiff and Mat Mcbriar.
The game started good for the Cowboys, they received the ball to begin the game, and Carter proceeded to drive the team down the field, on a 13 play 708 yard drive. On 4th and goal from the one inch line the Parcells elected to go for it and handed the ball to Richie Anderson who put the first points on the board.
The Cowboys then held the Texans 3 and out giving up a run for 1 yard and a 5 yard pass. After a punt return Carter once again moved his offense down the field on a 14 play 45 yard drive that was stalled by a 15 yard Dan Campbell clipping penalty in the redzone. The boys settled for a FG which Cundiff nailed from on a 28 yard chipshot.
Once again the Boys held the Texans three and out, only giving up a 5 yard run. Carter again managed his team on a 9 play 32 yard drive that put another FG on the board this time a 38 yarder.
This time the Texans got the ball and struck back. On the 7th play of a consistant drive Carr hooked up with Bradford on a 51 yard pass on a missed assignment by Roy Willaims. Newman tackled him on the 3 yard line and on the next play Davis took the ball in from 3 yards out.
The cowboys got the ball back with just about 2 minutes left in the game and Carter once again went to work Elway Style. Carter led his team on a 12 play 72 yard drive that took 1:33 off the clock and scored on a 10 yard pass to Witten with 27 seconds left in the game.
The Cowboys would lead at the half 20-7. They only gave up 88 yards in the first half, and 51 of that was a blown assignment. If the first team can play like that this team could win a lot of games this season. Then the second team took the field.
The Texans started the second half driving the field on the boys second defense but had to attempt a 51 yard FG which was wide right. Drew henson then took the field, and showed right away why the boys traded for Carter. A few running plays then on the first pass Henson forced a bad long pass that was intercepted by Earl.
The next drive the Cowboys managed to get to midfield, but were forced to punt. The punt was a work of art McBriar dropping it at teh 2 yard line and Terrence Newman swatting it to be downed at the 3 yard line. The cowboys then managed to hold the Texans to a punt and things were starting to look good, but on the return Randall Williams muffed the punt and the Texans recovered. A little while later Hollins was rumbling down the field 60 yard to seal the game.
The second team was horrible the lack of depth on this team is scary. Giving up 154 yard to Tony Hollings is terrible. James had 6 tackles as did Keith Davis. Carter looked good Henson did not. The boys might need to do something to avoid disaster if there happened to be an injury to a starter.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Thoughts: I was happy with what I was able to do with Carter, but the lack of running game from me was disapointing but just might be my rust showing. Henson's ineptatude is disapointing, and my backup defense is like butter. I probably will make at least 1 or two big moves because this will not happen again.

MINNESOTA- The Cowboys came into this game having lost 5 straight to the Vikings. Every time the Cowboys have played the vikings since Randy Moss became part of the team, Moss has done what it has taken to make the team that he wanted to play for that passed him up in the draft pay for it. Would this time be different?
The game opened with the Vikings taking the opening drive 80 yards down the field and scoring a TD on a 8 yd TD run by Smith. Things were not looking good for the Cowboys it seemed like history was about to repeat itself once again the high powered Cikings offense would once again be to much for the cowboys to deal with.
Now it was the Cowboys turn to answer, and answer they did, Quincy Carter took the team and drove it down the field. With about three minutes left in the first QTR Carter found Glenn on a cross route and Glenn turned the corner and finished off the 17 yard TD reception to even the score. The first QTR ended 7-7 and it seemed like today might just be a good game.
In the second QTR the Cowboys defense took charge, the held the Vikings and got the ball back for thier offense and the offense took advantage of the situation adding 10 pts on two consecutive possesions first a FG then a one yard step in by Julius Jones.
The vikings offense then went to work and once again made it a game by scoring two unanswered FGs. At the half the score was 17-13 Cowboys and all signs lead to a good second half.
The Cowboys would have none of the see-saw battle that was going on and they completely took control of the third QTR they scored two unanswered touchdowns and basically maintained ball controlt he whole third QTR. The two TDS in the 3rd were both runs one a 3 yarder by Jones and the other a 8 yard scramble by Carter. Carter was levelled after passing the Goal line, he was hit so hard that he landed 5 yards out of bounds on his backside. After the game he said "I think I bit my tongue on that play and it bothered me the rest of the game cause it swelled up and was real big, it was hard to call plays and the other players said I was talking like I had a sock in my mouth"
Going into the fourth qtr the score was 31-13 cowboys. Minnesota would need to score to have a chance, and score they did. They drove down the filed and Smith leaped over the pile from a yard out. then decided to go for 2 and make it a 10 point game, but they woudl fail the attempt Culpepper would be sacked by an all out blitz. The Dallas offense fizzled after that, Carter seemed woozy from the hit he took in the endzone, but it wouldn't matter. The defesive unit Stepped up and the vikings failed to move the ball the rest of the game.
This game was sweet revenge for any cowboys fan.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Thoughts: Hmm.. I think these sliders are a little to easy. It is hard to complete a pass over 10 yards with these sliders, which makes it difficult but I can still run the ball and I will only get better as I get my groove back, I think I will adjust the sliders for a bit more realism and toughness.

DALLAS- The first home game for the Cowboys this year was a dandy. The Cowboys did something they haven't done since 1969 in a regualr season game, they tied. After a tight locked 0-0 first QTR the browns started by scoring first with a FG to which the Boys answered with a FG of thier own. But a patteren developed in that first QTR, the Cowboy receivers wouldn't or couldn't catch. All the yards gained were from the legs of the Running Backs, or Carter himself. Even the usually steady Jason Witten couldn't seem to catch anything.
The rest of the first half was frustrating to watch for any cowboys fan. Nothing could be completed and the Browns could focus on stopping the run since it seemed all the cowboys receivers had left thier hands in the locker room. The Defense tried its best but without a passing game it was a losing battle in the field position game. At halftime Quincy Carter still had not thrown a completion and the Browns were leading comfortably 17-3.
I asked Coach Parcells after the game what he said in the locker room at halftime and he looked at me and smiled. "I tossed a football to Jason (Witten) and he caught it, then I just gave Quincy a pat on the back, nodded to my offensive line, and I told my defense they had allowed thier limit." He stated.
That seemed to work, the second half a different team came out on the field. Now by no means was this team on fire or torching the skies but at least some balls were being caught, and the offensive line must have decided that it was time to give Julius some room to work. They started making holes and before it was all said and done Julius was a toe from 200 yards.
The Defense put the hammer down and only allowed another 3 points the rest of the game. With 25 seconds left in the game Cundiff hit his 27 yard FG to tie it, and that would be it. The game would go into overtime and just like the first four qtrs the 5th period was a tie 0-0.
"You never really know how to feel after a tie." said Roy Williams after the game. "I mean we didn't lose so that is good, but we didn't win either, in a game like this you think about all the little things you might have done different to give your team what they needed to win the game. Coach told as we had allowed our limit, and then we gave up 3 more, so I take this Tie on my shoulders."
The Rookie that the cowboys traded for, D.J. Williams who had 11 tackles and a sack had this comment, "I need to watch a lot more film, I know I had a few mental errors and missed assignments. Everyone can improve, all I can do is look at myself and do what I need to do to get better."
Personally watching this game I think this team came together a little. This was adversity and they fought back at home and did what it took to NOT lose. I'm just glad I wasn't a Browns fan this game, they had the game locked up and let it slip away.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Thoughts:Wow a TIE. This game was crazy, ok I adjusted the sliders, brought down my RB ability brought up the pass acc a little and brought down the WR Catch, will evedently bringing down the WR catch was not a great idea. I also maxed out the CPU run block (RB ability was already maxed) I think I just need to move to all-madden..
