Packers Franchise Pre-Season 1

ATLANTA, GA. - Choke. Collapse. Screwed up. Whatever you want to call it. The Packers owned the FIRST half of the game, but in the end got shocked by the Atlanta Falcons, 28-25. The game started out well enough, with Brett Favre and Ahman Green easily going down the field to open up a 17-0 in the first quarter. The game was all downhill from there. Doug Pederson did well enough, going 1 quarter and doing very averagely. The real problem of the day:Craig Nall who went 1/7 passing with 1 interception in the second half. The future at quarterback does not look too bright if Nall keeps this up. On the bright side of the ball, Najeh Davenport ran for 49 yards on 12 attemps. He also brought the football into the endzone 1 time, on the ground.
One of the most amazing quarters of NFL Pre-Season play ever happened to start out the season for the Packers. With 1:51 left in the game, the Packers took the lead, 23-21 on a touchdown run by Najeh Davenport. The Packers then set up for the extra point. Head coach Paul "HocChe" L. decided that he wanted to go for 2, so he called a timeout. That timeout would be VERY COSTLY. The Packers did make the timeout, though. The Falcons got the ball back, and immediatly made 3 incomplete passes. On the Fourth down pass, they passed passed the First down marker! The wideout then immediatly put the ball on the ground, and the Packers recovered! The game was over! But no, of course not. Not with these Packers playing. The call was reversed from the booth, and the falcons got another chance. They moved it up to the Packers 40, and then threw the bomb to the endzone! The pass was incomplete! But the boneheaded coach decided to dive at Doug Johnson, and got called for Roughing The Passer. Great. They easily drove down, and with 15 seconds left scored.
Now you're wondering, what about the timeout? The Packers had one last play. They bombed it from Nall to Driver, and got the ball to the Falcons 30 with 3 seconds left. The last time out was wasted.
Maybe I'm overreacting, or maybe its just the preseason. Could be either one!

Score by Quarter:
10----7----0----08
00----7----0----21

Sound Bites:

Q: Mr. L., what did you think of your teams performance tonight?
A: I was extremely happy with my starters. VERY VERY happy with my starters. My STARTERS were so good, I think they should get rewarded. But they won't be.

Q:Coach Paul, are you worried about Craig Nall and his performance?
A:He's only been in the league for one year, and this is one game. I am a little worried, because he was playing against the Falcons backup defense. But other than that, I think he can be a fully capable #2 quarterback.

Q:Coach, do you regret wasting all of your timeouts before the end of the game?
A:No. Why would I? What would regreting it do? Nothing, thats what. Sometimes you jsut gotta move on.

hey....any question is a good question.

I don't think that play should be anything like this. Brett (Favre) did extremely well and I'm expecting big things from him. BIG things. The fans....hey, as long as they come, I dont care about what they think.(Immediatly regrets saying that). If (Craig) Nally doesnt start playing up to his ability, he will be the 3rd string QB this year.

*if you have any more, ask. i might not post EVERY preseason game.

Are we gonna get any progressions? Maybe a depth chart now? I'd just like to see the ratings, but if it's too much hassle that's cool.
