Superstar mode in general?

Ok...So I'm in my 4th season in super star mode and have no idea how to do anything other than play the season. Is there a way to customize stats, have interviews, make my ego not "narcissistic", and do anything outside of playing games and practices? I just don't understand why I don't see any of these things.
