My friend uses the vikings and AP and we play on the settings the game sets out, sliders are out play. No matter what team I use (usually the bears) I can't stop the run. 75% of the time its an outside run to the right but also mixes in runs to the left and middle as well as slants to the #2 receiver and R to L crossing patterns to the TE. Other than that theres really nothing to worry about from the passing game. How should I go about stopping this? corner blitzes have kinda helped but don't always work, plus they leave me susceptible to the slant to the X receiver he runs. Anything else and my LB's just can make it to the corner. I've also tried the 4-6 but that is just as bad if not worse.
i've had success using the jets defense and using the nickel odd formation it puts your fastest guys on the field along with 3 lbs to go against the run
Try a cb blitz , spotlight the fast RB, if he's going to the strong side a lot,move to the center and blitz your rolb, move your lolb out wide and manual him, and just before the snap spread the d line, if he is regularly going to the weak side swap the above and manual the rolb. Sometimes works for me, but if its AP or Johnson and that sort, its hit and miss
