If you had to make a choice as to who who was the best Middle linebacker, who would it be. Ray Lewis or Brian Urlacher. Or this question could be asked another way. If you were starting a franchise, and you had first pick between these two in a fantasy draft, who would it be??????
Ray Lewis. He is a beast, hands down. Urlacher can be good but is far too inconsistent for me. You could also argue that Lewis is surrounded by talent and Urlacher lacks a good supporting cast, but look at what Ray Lewis has done as an individual.
If I were running to the sideline after receiving a toss pass and I knew one of the linebackers were after me, I would fear for my life if I saw Ray Lewis break free from my blockers.

I have to go with the obvious here. Ray Lewis. He is my favorite player along with L.Tomlinson. Although he may not be as fast as Urlacher, he has better judgement, and he anticipates the runningbacks moves better. One of the key things I think that makes him stand above Urlacher is the fact that Ray Lewis is a natural Linebacker. Urlacher played saftey in college. Ray Lewis played linebacker at Miami, and he became know as the best tackler in the NFL.... Hands down, its gotta be RAY LEWIS!!!!!!!!!! Dont forget, Defensive Player of The Year, Superbowl MVP, Superbowl Champion.....
In real life I would have to take Ray Lewis no doubt but since this is Madden Urlacher would fit in perfectly, with his speed he can make all the plays and even cover & spy speedy QB's & RB's
It depends..........of course I am goin to pick Urlacher. also if you are playing franchise you get more of a life out of Urlacher and i think he is better at forcing turnovers, like ints or fumbles........
this is what i got off of www.brianurlacher.com jsut for mr. sickwithvick :

Those are good stats, but lets be honest here. Your talking about New Mexico State. How many blue chip recruits do they get a year. One, two at the most. The fact is that if Brian Urlacher would have went to FSU, Miami, USC, he would not had the opputunity to play all those positons. There are hundereds of athletes that come into big universities that could do that, but they don't have to because the talent level is larger than opposed to New Mexico St.
HE LIVES IN NEW MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there are plenty of people who go to college near home for reasons of their own..im sure his were good and all. you can't say he didn't put a surge into my dwindling bears and you can't say that he isn't a pro bowl caliber football player. he may not have the hardware that ray lewis has but if the bears can spend their money more wisely then signing another kordell stewart then things will be better and he will have a chance for his hardware.
I have to agree about that, but I thought it was pretty funny when I saw Paris Hilton up in Urlacher's suite box thing.

I know he's not mentioned but I think LaVar Arrington is on of the the best LB's on the game...maybe just cuz I play with the Skins alot I don't know... but this guy makes plenty of big plays and is good at injuring & stripping the QB on sacks. real fast too
In real Life, Lewis hands down. I seen him hit people so hard, that even MY FEELINGS were hurt. In madden 2004, you can argue that Urlacher has more speed, but since i like to use my LB anyways you can make any pleyer better by using him yourself. I pratically made my RLB Marlon Greenwood from Miami a star because i let Zach Thomas and Junior Seau do their thing. So its a toss up for the game, real life tho, hands down LEWIS!

He's still a monster. I remember seeing that game where the other team missed a FG at the end of regulation and the Ravens ran it back for a TD and Ray Lewis set the whole thing up with that ferocious hit he laid on whoever that was. I jumped out of my seat when i saw that hit. They better mold the new hits in Madden 2005 into Lewis type hits..... j/k ... if they did everyone would be injured.

Oooh man I remember that one too... I think McAlister caught it against the Broncos, ran 108 yards. The only reason I remember that play is because I saw Lewis smack someone off his feet... Oh **** that was amazing. I loved how they kept showing it on replay, it got better every time.

That hit was sick..... and ESPN just kept showing it and showing it and showing it over and over again....Talk about pouring salt in the wound...then the guy Ray Lewis hit tried to act like it didn't bother him in an interview.... yeah right....
