Stopping Ricky Williams

I play against someone and on offensive every single play they line up in goal line and run the HB off tackle with Ricky Williams. I tried lining up in goal line and blitzing everyone but Ricky bounces off all the defenders and since i have noo deep help so he ends up breaking a long TD run. I tried the 4-3 and 3-4 defenses but their offensive line pushes everyone around. Anyone with any suggestions.

Try using the 4-6, or when times are really tough and you know they are gunna run it, use SP-field goal block.

Try the corner blitz in the goal line formation. If the play takes a while to develop or if it is some kind of outside run your corners will stop the running back in the backfield.

i stop RIcky with a 3-4 more than 46 D. I think a 46D is dangerous because if he does break a few tackles he is long gone since your so stacked. I don't recommend the FG Block thing because if its a HB Dive or something he'll get through. Best is using the 46 then with like a Mid Blitz. The Goaline Gaps Fire isn't a bad idea either.

Is he bouncing off your defenders because your Diving at him? if your diving at him trying to tackle him then thats not good you have to run right smack into him most times.

I just played against a guy like that yesterday but he used Deuce McCallister. I had a hard time stopping him most of the game 115yards 1 td(as with any good runner)but if you can stop a user who's looking to run on 1st down then it's 2nd & 9 or ten all that goaline stuff goes out the window. Not to mention if you get a quick score or two...look your opponent gets real fustrated with the 3 yards and a cloud of dust game plan...when you are torching him with 20-30 yard completions(I used the Redskins..L Coles 11 catches 295 yards 3 td's)

Best bet is to try and contain him as much as possible but burn his D with your offense. If he goes down a bit he'll start to pass more to catch up and probably abandon the run abit, but still a 3-4 playbook not a 3-4 scheme would work well if your having problems.

My best advice is practice the Madden Camp for LB Chase or Tackle or whatever its called and practice seeing the hole and going into it. Then start using your LB's more nad as soon as you see the whole run right into it and stop him yourself

You should use something like a free fire and close the Dline to stop any dive plays and spread the LBs to stop any type of sweep.
And definatly be in control of a LB because with a good RB its difficult to get to him as a Dlineman

yep, being a LB is the way to go. I usually wind up to have to stop the RB myself

This is funny, because I had this same problem last night. I was playing a friend of mine, and he was playing with Miami, while I chose to play with the defensively challenged Falcons. I lost the game by a touchdown because my friend likes to eat the clock, and limit how many times I have the ball. Needless to say, I surrendered 342 rushing yrds to Mr. Williams. I tried everything, but nothing worked...

I eat clock to when i play high-powered offenses like Colts, Chiefs, and Vick. Again you have to learn to play with your LB's and takcle him yourself. I let the hole develop and jump in there alot. Its still hard though
