Does anyone know if this feature will still exits on Madden 2007? If it does, I won't buy.
I know some people like it, but it's just too much like work. I played Madden 2006 for months trying so hard to like it, but that feature made it miserable. And I know you can turn it off, but when you compete with others, half want to leave it on, and half want it off. It just wasn't enjoyable for me in 2006. It seems like some die hards like the feature, but I think the average Madden fan hates it. It will be a mistake if the feature has been included in 2007.
And if you didn't like it in 06... you can just... you know... turn it off.

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.

This is good news. It may sound crazy, but the fact that default setting will be no precision makes all the difference in the world. When it's a feature that most Madden Loyalists hate, you shouldn't have to turn it off, it should have to be turned on. And the default setting is generally what dictates how competition between players will be played.
You hate precision passing because you suck at it...Right?...Well Im guessing thats the case.
I liked precision passing, it added something to the game. My friends who play like it...And I think most people on the board quite liked it...I may be wrong in that though.
I think it was a good feature, and if it is off by default, I will be turning it back on.

It's going to be a bad deal for those who don't want it and still play on "All Madden" as I understand it.
Not that I think that's the case here.

It has nothing to do with sucking or not sucking at it. I practiced it for hours and became quite good at it. That didn't change the fact that it made the game not fun for me. If the precision passing mode is on no matter what during All-Madden play, that makes my decision for me. I won't buy the game, and I guarantee you that sales will fall for Madden this year. Not because of me and my one humble opinion, but because it is widely hated.
If the passing cone is off, can you still use Precision Passing, as in the directions the ball goes? The reason I ask is because it sounds like they are trying to make a benefit to using it other than because you Precision Pass.
I also doubt there will be many people willing to go backwards to a time when you couldnt direct your pass...Though I may be wrong.

It adds a new dimension to the game. You even hinted it was because you sucked saying only diehards liked it...As in they were the only ones good enough to use it.
Whats your reason for not liking it...Im curious..If its not cos you cant use it well..?

Even going by your logic that people widely suck at it, do you think a gaming franchise cares about making a few people that like it happy if they are pissing off thousands of loyal consumers and losing money? Trust me, precision passing won't be around in 2008 because EA sports will realize they are losing money because of it. They want to please the masses.
And my reason for not liking it is that it made the game too realistic. Video games aren't supposed to always emulate real life. Super realistic doesn't always make for a better game. I liked high scoring affairs. It made the game fun. Precision passing made too many drives stall. Too hard to complete passes. Yeah, I could still beat the computer and still beat people I played, but I didn't have fun doing it. I'm guessing you liked it because you maybe have the time to sit around all day and figure out every intricacy of precision passing and become great at it as opposed to proficient. But most of us are students or like myself, working professionals who don't have that kind of time to devote to Madden. And if you have to devote 4 hours a day to become good at one lousy feature of a game, then it's not worth it to the majority of people who play it.
Speaking of work, lunch is over so I can't argue about hating Precision Passing anymore.

Then go back to playing NFL Blitz.
The more real they can make Madden the better. I don't want to play an arcade style football game, I want realism. EA doesn't target kids who cant afford to pay for the game themselves. EAs target for Madden is men in their early 20s to 30s.

I didnt have to devote 4 hours a day to get good. When the game came out, I played a franchise with my friend who came over to test it out, which we finished in a few days...By the end of it I was what I would consider good.
So three days really. I dont think thats long.
If you are looking for Arcade style games, Madden isnt the Franchise for you. Its football simulation...Ie, it is attempting to be as realistic as possible. The vision cone therefore did its job.
Now whether or not the vision cone is in the game in 2008 depends largely on whether Madden is going to go down an Arcade route...Madden is simulation, and the people behind it will have to make up their mind as to whether it really is that, or if they just want to appeal to the masses (I have a bad feeling/know its the latter.)
Either way, I think you have misunderstood Madden...Its simulation. not arcade.

I would agree that if it doesn't fly with the consumer, that they will drop it.

I don't think you are correct on that assumption.

If it wasn't hard, it wouldn't be worth doing. I mean, if it was easy all the time, with no real threat of losing... The game would suck. I like challenge. OH yes... Challenge is good.

Then I would guess that you can understand why people jump to the same thought process, but opposite opinion of the conclusion of why you don't like it.

Im 50/50 on precision passing. It has its benefits as far as boost, but before 06 I was playing without it for so long I just think it takes away from some of the essence of playing Madden. Going all the way back to the first Madden. Some people love it some people hate it. Having PP for 2007 wont stop me from buying it, I love the franchise. What I hated ever more was the Superstar mode and all that damn text....
SS mode has been totally re-made. You control only one guy, and it actually sounds pretty cool. (I wasnt a fan at all last year either...Never did it)
