Post Improvements

There are TONS of that could be made to madden. Don't get me wrong, i love the game, but there could be many changes to make it that much better. I'm one of those people that like to play franchise mode, so here are some things i think could be improved........

1. PLEASE in franchise mode make the salary cap realistic. I hate it when i can't pick up any good free agents 'cause the salary cap is in debt or about to be, or u can't sign an awesome draft pick. Then u end up havin to release ur best players to get the cap up....and sometimes that don't work!

2. Make the free agents signings BEFORE the draft.

3. Be able to have a longer roster and then be able to cut players during the preseason.......another thing...during preseason games actually let almost all the back-ups play instead of letting the starters play for 2 quarters.

4. I agree with everyone about how madden needs BETTER commentators, i mean c'mon, madden and al get pretty old after awhile, especially when they say the same things over and over again. Keep them for the important games, but for the smaller, less important games, have somebody else commentate.

5. I also agree on how the whether and crowd should effect the games. Like on ncaa, have like inexperienced players get rattled or something by the crowds. And for the whether, like rain, have like people slippin and slidin and bad throws ect. same thing goes if you have like the patriots play the dolphins how like the warm whether should effect the pats stamina and stuff like that.

6. I agree on how tony bruno gets old and how there should be like sports center or something cool like that that shows news, highlights, ect.

7. I think too if you upgrade your stadium that YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR UPGRADES!

8. There should be teams that should propose trades to YOU instead of you proposing trades to them all the time.

9. You should be able to improve players while the season goes on, not only by how they play, but by doing drills, practice, ect.

10. I also believe that there should be problems like T.O. on teams and then that should effect your team and stuff like that

11. I think that you should actually be able to return punts instead of having to fair catch 9 out of 10 times.....i mean i can't even return a punt 10 yards, now that's pretty pathetic.

12. I liked the idea about how they should have a pregame, halftime, and postgame show, and how in the beginning of the game it should like show the guys getting fired up in the locker room or somethin cool like that.

13. I wish the gameplay was more realistic, such as defenders having perfect interceptions then it just like bounces off of them, i mean like once in a while it's ok but almost every time, that's just not cool.

14. The receivers need to be improved. They should be able to make amazing catches, drag their feet, go for jump balls in the endzone, ect.....this list could go on forever.

15. The jukes and stuff need to be improved too. I hate how the jukes are and how you can never truly "break somebody's ankles" or "juke someone out of their shoes".

16. The fans and the sidelines need to look REALISTIC. They look like clay figures for godsake!

17. The injuries need to be better too. Like the serious injuries should have an ambulance come on the field and things like that.

18. The last-second field goals need to be more realistic. You should be able to ice the kicker and that should make his kick power and accuracy go down.

19. There should be a more variety of tackles.

20. Screen passes and HB draws and delays should actually freeze the defense and most importantly...THEY SHOULD ACTUALLY WORK!

21. You shouldn't be able to just QB sneak it when it's 4th and inches or your on the goaline and make it......it should be more challenging and have like dogpiles and big stuffs and things like that.

22. The O-line definitely needs some tweaking. They shouldn't just stand there and pancake everyone, they should actually form a pocket so the QB can step up into it if there are rushers coming from the outside, because i don't know 'bout you but i always drop back really far.

23. During the offseason there should be like the scouting combine and you should be able to watch the prospects or maybe even control them. I also like the idea about how you should be able to hire scouting agents and stuff like that. Also i hate it when a guy, in the draft, is goin like in the 4th round but he's like amazing, then a guy in the top 5 is like average and below average, but then the amazing guy turns out bad and the top 5 guy turns out good even though thats not what it said on his scouting report.

Well, i think that completes my list for now. All in all i just want the game to be more like real life, is that so hard to ask?

Thanks

Well I agree that there are some things that could be done to make salaries and the cap more realistic like allowing you to add incentives into players contracts, or front load contracts instead of back loading them and stuff like that.

But it sounds to me like you are asking to get rid of the cap because you cant manage it and you are always running out of cap. If anything, from what I have seen, the cap in the game goes up much more each season than it does in real life. If your "cap is in debt", its because you put it there. I think you don't quite understand what the cap is. If I'm not mistaken there is an option to turn the cap off if you are having problems managing your cap.

Yeah most people who ask for the cap to be more realistic, like us play the game and are sitting with a loaded team full of 90+ players and plenty of Cap Room to do whatever we want with.

The game gives you TOO much cap room, and all the other teams in the game are usually sitting there with 40+ mil in cap space by the 4th or 5th year and they don't use the caproom.

Also.. I think since I can do training camp drills the CPU shoudl do them too, that also would keep teams competative

I agree with number 20. Screens and draws just dont work on the game. I always like the idea of them, and try them in the vague hope they will work..But they dont...Needs to be fixed. Obviously not so they are great, but so they do actually catch a defense napping..

Well Cash is the Cap expert. But the basics are pretty simple. You have to keep a mix of players on your team and balance it out properly. You cant have a loaded team with all your starters and backups in the 90s. Higher OA players want more money, so you have to balance it out.

Also if you make trades you get hit with what is called a penalty. The players signing bonus will count against you all at once the next season. So if you trade a guy with a $20 mil bonus, next season you wont be able to use $20 mil of your cap.

Something they could do in both Madden and NCAA is increase the number of last names in the random name generator database. I import draft classes, but after awhile it gets irritating to have 50 people named Arrington in the same league.

I definately agree with you on that one. Like you said, I hate it when there are like 50 people with the same last name, especially if there are like 2 guys with the same last name, you get confused sometimes because you don't know which guy they're talkin about.

Haha, I agree, but also they do come out with some great ones, I drafted a guy just for his name once...Hoofnagle. He was like a 5th rounder but I liked him so much I got him to like 87 OVR or something.

And for Browns fan, if you have a guy with a low sal have one or two great years, you can expect a holdout, where he is gonna ask for more money. The thing is Madden lets you resign players for much less than they would get in FA, so it actually makes it easier to manage the cap for you..

lmao about the guy you got in the 5th round.......

p.s. thanx for the salary cap tip.......i appreciate it because i don't know how to manage it very well. i never knew about the holdout thing. i usually pay my top players ALOT of money for 7 years and my cap never goes down too much but then in the offseason it turns around and bites me in the ***..........thanx again

A lot of people do 7 years with maxed out bonus and low sal therefore. This creates more space but if you dont know if you are gonna keep them for all that contract a 30+ hit trading or releasing them is gonna cripple your team..Just a heads up.

thanx for the tip........that's probably my problem, i fill my team with awesome players that have high ratings. How come when you like give your players a contract with alot of money for like 5 to 7 years your cap hardly goes anywhere?I've noticed though that it does bite you in the *** during the offseason...............well, thanx for the tip!

.............lmao!
