C'mon EA, has anyone on your staff ever played real football?
I have always been a Madden fan, but have been disappointed in the way EA has gone about Madden for 06. Don't get me wrong, it was a good game. But not the best what EA could have given us. Let's not even talk about Madden for the 360! Didn't even bother. Eye candy, but no depth! This is not what we want!
Graphics will only take a football game so far. It is the game play that we want. EA needs to rethink for 07'. Take the best that they have , use some of the ESPN football game play or ideas and make it there own.
I have read most of the and agree with all of the suggestions! They are awesome! Hopefully EA will take this and use the ideas!
With games costing so much now, we, the fans deserve a great football game!
1. AI needs to greatly improve on both sides! How many times have I been under center and he moves before the ball snaps!!! Um....no! Not realistic! Jukes look stupid and hardly ever work! You juke two yards away and the defender bites?!!! WHAT?
2. Screen passes and swing passes NEVER hardly work! Delays hardly work either...
3. If you give a player a rating....USE the rating for the player! What good are the numbers of attributes if everyone really seems equal?
4.Tackles were good, not great. One are tackles and drags would be great. But only the strongest LB or DL should be able to SOMETIMES one hand tackle...or maybe grab and slide and delay the runner until someone else mops up.
5. If you have a hard hitting safety....make him a hard hitting safety. Jacked Up hits would be great. When a player does get Jacked up, he should be waving for the side line and be taken out for a few plays. But don't go overboard!
6.Injuries need also be taken into consideration! Suggestions on the board were great !
7. OL and DL need greatly improvement. Show the trench fighting, have a blitzing LB come charging through bending an OL back!
8.!!!! The field and weather also need to have a bigger role! If it is raining, the field needs to effect the GAME. Outside teams should be better in the weather than Dome teams! Runners need to slip, lose balance. Balls slipping out of hands WR's and QB's and RB's! Home Field Advantage should also have something!!! There should be puddles and water effects, uniforms muddy.
9. Fatigue also needs to be a role. How many times do we run with the same player, Tackle with the same player ect.......it has not been implemented the way it should!
I just think if we have to pay so much more for the games now, we should get so much more! Later!

true, rain does cause a lot of fumbles, but it would be awesome if you saw running backs slip , trying to keep their balance. Or say you are running the ball and the field is wet, you take the run to the outside, you actually see the runner shorten his strides to make the cut ( because you have to run different in the rain ) and WHOA! a defender slips right in front of you, because he came up to fast and could not make the cut....these little things make the game along way.
EA needs to think like it is in a relationship with it's fans. You can date the sexiest finest chic with tons of eye candy, but when things start to droop and sag, what is left ? Some chic who can't hold a conversation ! ( MADDEN 06 for 360 looks pretty.....but )

Love it! Reminds me of Madden in the old days! All I am saying is that EA should make the 07 Madden pretty to look at, but deep in playing. The little things would help out a lot. I have read a lot of the posts and everyone seems to like where Madden is going, but it has not reached what it could be.

I love these suggestions. They are very in depth and well though out. There is a lot that EA can do and hopefully it'll done next year for the 360. We shall see.
Great great suggestions. The one thing you left out. Take out all the freaking fumbled punt returns. There is no way in heck that there are what seems like one punt fumble every single game. To me in the real NFL it seems there are more punt return tds that there are fumbles. They just need to make it where your not begging for a touchback, kick out of bound or fair catch every single punt of the game.
Punt returns....totally forgot about them....probably because of the glitch that is on my Madden....I do not know about everyone else, but my 06' had a flaw on Punt returns...NO ONE WOULD BLOCK!!!
Special Teams are often forgotten. But they can change a game in a heartbeat.
I do have something to complain about that I also saw on these boards, but forgive me, I can not remember who posted it first... but I am sure everyone here will agree.....the player ratings need to really mean something in the 07 Madden.
WR's that have 99 speed should be able to burn everyone without 99 speed. There just doesn't seem to be a threat in 06. I don't know how many times I played against the Raiders only to have Randy Moss catch zero catches! C'mon EA!
There needs to be some strategy. If you are playing against a team that has a triple threat....there needs to be some punishment for trying to just stop the run....let the QB and WR's take over....then the player would have to readjust....the computer needs to be able to readjust it's thinking.
All of these game developers HAVE NO EXCUSE ANYMORE NOT TO BE ABLE TO MAKE A GREAT GAME. They complained about the last gen game consoles , saying they were limited on certain aspects....NOT ANYMORE.
If we as consumers have to fork out 65.00 a game, then the game should reflect that. MS and Sony have stated that they have all this tech in their consoles...USE IT THEN!!!!!!!!
I use to go and buy games that interested me, now I wait to see the reviews on the games. I am not going to waste money on a game that looks great , only to have terrible AI and closed ended. Open endings and many possibilities are the NEXT GEN!

Another thing that I really really hate, is the catch up AI. It burns me bad all the time. Be up by a couple scores and then once the two minute warning hits, the computer runs its hurry up offense and there is just absolutely no way to stop them. Even on 4th and 27 they still somehow manage to keep the drive going.
I understand some two minute offenses are very very effective, but if youve been stopping a team all day long and then wammo, they can do anything they want against your team just because its within 2 minutes....that just a pile of bull to me.

Did anyone see Terrence Newman (97 speed) chase down Randy Moss (99 speed) From behind in real life this year besides me?
99 speed shoudl not be that much faster... the problem is this... the computer doesn't know when to use sprint... thats the problem.
Also offensive lineman and kickers and punters are too slow... anyone besides me see Brian Moorman (punter with like a 40 speed in madden) in almost photo finishes against the fastest CB's and Receivers at the fastest man contest at the pro bowl?

CashPath has it absolutley right! The computer does not know when to sprint or juke , the AI needs to be better!

ok so the graphics blow my mind...but yeah now the game is getting old....i have a good dsl connection and when i play online the game is like in slow motion not exactly laggy but just slow motion. and wow IM PLAYING ON ALL MADDEN AND IM DOMMINATING WITH THE SAINTS OVER THE PATS..i aint that good im winning these games by 30. Also the cpu has got to at least miss a few field goals. Ea has made it so the cpu can never miss a field goal...never botch a punt never make an error. Also i have been easily getting 10 sacks a game by controlling one D end or LB on all madden...wow the game is 2 easy and yet it still sucks. I love the graphics...but they made a small bad effect. When it snows...i dont see any snow on the players...and when it rains where is the rain dripping off the helmit? improve rain andsnow...madden for 360 is a 7 out of 10....it has reached a 7 just because the graphics but minus the graphics..madden for the 360 is a 3 out of 10. GREAT ideas u guys..........oh and nice pic of Alba! But ya i agree 100% with you on these ideas. I mean not bein able to return a punt or kick for 30 yards, let alone a freakin td. I don't know bout you but don't you think that's just a little RIDICULOUS! I like the idea about how the players have certain attributes so shouldn't they be able to EXPRESSS them? And the whether should be improved and how it, and the crowd, should be able to have effects on the game. I again agree with you guys 100% on your ideas.

P.S. I hope madden gets most of these cause THEY NEED IT!
I would love it if in Superstar mode you the player had more choices. when signing a contract, how many years, salary amount, stuff like that. if you dont get it you can holdout.
I want more interviews throughout the season. If you are seeking a trade have it take some time (week or two) instead of instantly and be able to talk about teams you would like to play for.
When being drafted be able to go high in the first round. someone could have a great college QB who breaks every record and wins every game in college, but doesnt do well in the draft. That shouldnt happen. Have more in depth discussion about the draft and what teams are looking at you and when you may be taken. Be able to either be at the draft and go up, hold up your jersey with the team cap on, or if you are later in the draft show you at home cheering in front of the t.v with family and friends.
Before the draft you should be able to work out for teams and participate in the combine, along with the wonderlick test. Have specific teams who are looking at drafting you bring you in for workouts and interviews.
During your season have discussions of your legacy as a superstar. If you win many championships and break records, have a talkshow like in dynasty mode discuss how great you are and if you could be thought of as one of the greatest players at you positions.
I also would like the players to not look as bulky and huge. I love NCAA 06 and how the players look. they appear to me as real looking football players. i created a player and it looked like he gained 50 pounds between college and the pros. NCAA players and gameplay looks to me smoother than Madden's gameplay. I hope they can do something about that.
Have coaches fired and hired, new stadiums built and new jerseys made all throughout superstar mode.
More commentary about players and how they will affect the current game and season. If a major trade takes place or if a former player from one team faces his old team again for the first time, discuss something about that.
