Just played it and got more:
On All-Madden in the RB drill all four guys shouldn't blitz you. It takes 30 seconds to get in the endzone unless it calls a toss. Sometimes your QB won't even hand the ball off.
Anyone else notice that on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 that which ever OL you run behind decides not to see the LB and lets him walk right in uncontested. This does happen, just not every time.
Fullbacks are stupid. They need to go find someone to block and actually try to touch them. Somehow you guy has eyes in the back of his head and tries to block based off how you are running instead of just hitting someone.
People run into blocks. They can be free to get a sack but will stop turn to the side and run into a OL man. Also on CB blitzes instead of running straight in off the edge they run to the side right into a Guard.
And as mentioned before punt return blocking. You will ave 4 of your guys stand five yards in front of you and star back at you as 1 guy will run right through all of them You can't even get a yard and if you try to you will fumble.
hey have u guys ever noticed that when u are doin a playmaker to change whice way a run is goin and you are playing a human opponent it is obbvious because it comes up on the screen.....same with hot routes....i think it should be more descrete....like a rumble on your controler or something...also i think the playbooks should be more elaborate....60% or madden is picking high percentage playes 40% is executing...like when u make your own playbook u can only have like 100 plays its toooooo little.....also they should add better opyion routes and add play action to create your oown playbook..........looking foward to next year
Treat this feature just like create a player, height, weight, body morphing, college, experience, accessories (hats like Lombardi and Landry, suit and tie, glasses and sunglasses, mustaches, beards, headsets, sweats or windbreakers, etc.), tendencies (run vs. pass offense and defense, blitz heavy or zone coverage, on a 0-99 stat so that each coach can be unique), incorporate the Create a Playbook option to assign a playbook to the coach, be able to assign the coach to a specific Created Team. All these would make gameplay versus the computer and humans specific to each individual, you want your old high school coach to coach your team? Now they can!
also i think the playbooks should be more elaborate....60% or madden is picking high percentage playes 40% is executing...like when u make your own playbook u can only have like 100 plays its toooooo little.....
Exactly. Especially when on higher difficulties the computer will get more fumbles and interceptions when you run the same plays over and over. The problem is there are only 10 or so good plays. Many plays are stupid, never work or have retarded routes. Not to mention fakes and such which the defense never even sort of bites on.
I agree with all of the ideas above. This game needs to be more realistic.
1.Running backs need more moves like in ncaa 06. Different kinds of jukes, make the moves more effective. A lower your shoulders to break the tackle like in 2k5.
2.I can score like 60+ points on all pro, but when i play all madden i get my *** kicked about every game no matter who i am. There should be more mess ups on field goals and punts, like bad snaps and holds etc. I can end every season with a player and break the rushing record, make stats more realistic.
3.Defensive players always seem to drop interceptions. These guys can catch much better than that.
4.Make the game have more detail. When players get hurt the play should show them breaking their wrist. Helmets could rip off. Pregame halftime and after the game shows.
5.Monday Night Football games and rivalries should be more intense.
6.Speed needs to be increased. Players can gain speed in real life, but on the game it stays pretty much the same. This should be a stat for training camp. Increasing a player's speed 7 points in a season is a huge difference, so maybe 3-4 for a gold on all madden for speed.
7.You should have practices to prepare for the next team and be able to tell players what they need to work on.
8.You can see some crappy back run right over ray lewis. In real life this would rarely happen. Player's abilities have to be more realistic. A rookie qb shouldn't know all the plays yet. A new stat should be composure, how well you'll play during crunch time. Kickers, snappers, and holders would mess up during a game winning field goal with bad composure.
i think they should get rid of the truck stick and replace it with a juke stick. they should make a truck button, it is a waste of a stick if the only direction u use it is up, y not just have a button. With a juke stick, u could do so many moves, like the freestyle stick in nba live
The thing i find annoying is on a kickoff in the 4th quarter, if you are leading by just a couple of points, the camera does a head on shot of the kicker and follows the ball downfield, which means that you cant see what guy you are controlling or what direction you are running in. This all means that your guy is running in the wrong direction and therefore misses a vital tackle.
Also when you are on defence and you have something like triple coverage on a reciever, the QB lobs the ball up to him and all 3 DBs miss their 'pat downs' and the reciever makes the catch, wouldnt happen in real life.
Holding/facemask penalties should be eradicated, or if not then the player should have the option to do either of these things during a play to see if they can get away with it. i find it really annoying to be called for a penalty that i have no control over.
When playing at Lambeau field all touchdown scorers should do the Lambeau leap
Every team should have the option in their playbook for a HB pass, for example the Chargers do it in real life but it isnt in their playbook in the game.
QBs shouldnt just lob the ball up in the air miles away from the intended reciever, even randy moss cant reach half of them.
It would be fantastic if half of these could get in the game.
The one thing that bothers me the most about madden, is the fact that I can throw a ball with the colts to marvin harrison hard, and he will drop it.
I can count how many times he has dropped a pass on one hand and in the game, just in general, the receivers drop the balls all the time,.
That and the fact that DBs always know exactly what the QB is thinking and exactly when he will throw it.
Unless someone is completely wide open, I NEVER burn them.
I agree about speed with one exception. You either have it or you dont. There is no way anyone gains 7-8 speed in a year. Maybe with intense training and such you may gain a little speed over a few years but never 7 or 8 points in one year much less every year. Hell everyone would be 99 speed if that was the case.
I do agree the punt blockers need to do a much better job.
madden needs gang tackles i think that woods be cool.and u need a sports center type thing after thgames to show all the high lights like NFl 2k5 did that it was soo cool. AND NFL 2k5 let u see threw ure helmet that was the collest thing madden needs to do that
I think it should have every teams touchdown theme songs, crowd chants (like the kick off songs off the chiefs .etc).
Also big play abilities that players like Dante Hall have, or a stat that you have the ability to break a huge play.
Alot of the things you guys have said can be done, like blocking punts, i can do it almost 3 times a game, however its so cheap and i feel like im cheating. (all you do is line up a fast guy, i use ed reed cuz he can actually do it in real life, you line him up 3 spots from the right on punt block. when the computer switches to max protection, and the fullback is on the left side, you can pretty much just run in untouched and press y (xbox) and youll block it.
But reallistically guys do some crazy moves to block punts, or kicks, in the falcons game it showed jim mora telling a player to jump over the blocker becasue he just sticks his head down, stuff like that is amazing. and with maddens reputation youd think you could do that.
one thing i really hate is the passing game. you have to play the game so much that you know every db's tendancy to actually hit a reciever. it seems like the only way to complete a pass is to throw it high. in my season with the ravens, on all madden, calrence moore had like 91 receptions for 20 tds, and derrick mason had like 30. now which one of these guys is really a better reciever?? its a no brainer. something that has to happen is a stat or something for route running. marvin harrison burns everybody, chris mcallister, rasheen mathis. in the game he cant because hes not big, not the fastest. and same with the qb vision. if you look a defender off then throw it to another guy at the other side of the field. a safety or even a line backer playing a hook zone will fly over and deflect the ball or make it incomplete, comon how many times does this really happen.
since this is so long ill wrap it up with another pet peeve. i hate the trench warfare in this game. the only way i can get sacks is by substitutions, i take my DT, make him RE, put suggs as dt, then before the snap mover suggs way outside and run as fast as he can. the tackle doesnt even move. any body would be able to recognize that. another thing is the run game. its either your blocked or unblocked. jamal lewis breaks like 1 tackle a game without truckstick. most guys break arm tackles easily. and with defensive ends, everytime you pull a trigger they fall, why cant they just get a good blon them, ive never seen a bullrush, it seems like the only time a linemen gets by a blocker is when the computer feels its time that your guys have covered so long that maybe they should let you get a sack.
another hint is when passing on 3rd down, if your at home, quiet the crowd down, us some fake snaps, and if a guy looks like hes blitzing, keep a te or running back home and block using hot route, player icon, right/left trigger. then for the most success do a in or hook at the first down marker, works everytime. happy maddening ladies
i agree about the injury thing. they just limp off the field by themselves and youll look at the injury list and they will have a broken leg or spomething.
in 07 the training staff should come out, or if its seriuos they should be carted off the field
In the playbook, you should have the ability to make custom play actions, reverses, counter's, and even the option. They're sick plays and you can only use the playbook provided, and they're not always that great.
if you guys are having problems with the CBs tipping and being soo alert, then use the madden AI shifter system to make the game more comfortable to your liking , also if the running is hard... try putting the running ability and blocking up a little bit

ok im a madden fan played madden datin back to 92 but madden 06 made me change to NCAA
1 lets be for real mike vick does not and will never run over LBs don't care how garbage the LB is
2 why every time you dive with a QB foward he fumbles but when they get blasted from behind or when the wind up to pass the rarely do
3 i kno with the feature where u can choose to shade the reciever but when u dont do it why when any type of slant or 6 yrd post route the WR runs behind the corner always puttin the corner in position to make a pic
4 on coverages why dont the LBs strech out the zone to the max and why CBs come up first then drop back when u give the receivers cushin on a cover 3
5 why WRs never continue on their routes when your QB is in trouble
6 Name the last QB who had the ability to run left and throw across their body with out settin their feet to complete a post pass dats 30-40 yds down field consistently. for example a right handed QB runs left and throws rights without setting there feet
7 why the OL is retarted when it comes to screen plays and why it gets snuffed out by the D every time
8 why Corner blitz always get picked up
9 the formations or the plays supposed to be authentic or whatever then why the eagles never had da shotgun but in every game on tv they've ran it
10 why is brian westbrooks spin is retarted slow but fred taylors spin move is fast as hell
11 why when theres an over load blitz on one side you throwa quick pass to that side he leads the receiver and it gets picked
12 why on drag routes the CB thats trailin the receiver by couple yds all of sudden takes some speed and have this magical speed burst and either deflects da pass or picks it off
13 is it that hard to give the QBs a different button to slide with please i mean triangle if u play it on ps2 is a useless button while running i mean lets be for real does the lower the shoulder take away any effect from the truck stick
14 can we get diving over the pile people i haven't seen diving over the pile since tecmo bowl and that was over 10 years ago think about what system was out back then because the goaline stand is BS we all know that yea a few ok but when u can never get in unless u use the QB sneak is gettin old
15 can we please get more challenge selections i mean ESPN Football had it where u had an option on what u wanted to challenge especially if the QBs arm went forward we dont wanna kno if your QB fumbled the ball if his knees wasnt down it clearly hes standin makin a pass we wanna know if his arm is going forward
16why theres no post or corner hot routes for TEs because those buttons are used for block left and right
17 where the special team play not great punt returns not blocked field goals
18 and speaking of field goals please take that dum A** clutch kicking screen where it change views when its either the game tying field go or to when the game its difficult to angle the field goal
19 where the celebratin control why would college have it but NFL they do it for u
20 when playin against a team with a front 7 like carolina new england Pittsburgh etc there is no way your QB has 10-15 seconds throwin the ball take it that you blitz maybe 0-2 people so u make sure everybody is covered.
21 And Please take tony brunos bum A** nobody wanna hear his corny jokes have some type of sportcenter or nfl tonite or fox nfl sunday or somethin show some highlights on other games give us some side interaction with the game
The only thing I'd ask for is every player's little quirks or touchdown celebrations. Chad Johnson could have TD celebrations for type known to man. Come on you know it'd be funny
1. Punt returners actually gain more than 2 yards per return.
2. Editable "Force Injury" Option for franchise mode and player IR Option so you don't have to Drop Ahman Green and Najeh Davenport from the Packers.
3. Ability to return missed/short kickoffs.
4. Stop the ridiculous 90 yard pass between 3 defenders computer catch up game if you are blowing them out.
5. Import/Export/Duplicate rosters into franchise mode so you don't have to edit the same rosters twice.
6. Complete editability of all players at all times.
7. More defensive pass interference calls and less damn facemask calls.
I read as much as I could of the other post, so I hope I'm not repeating anything....
FRANCHISE:
COACHING:
You should have position coaches in Franchise. It get's annoying when you're trying to develop a QB and a WR and you have to chose a coach that has a high rating in one or the other.
Have a way of measuring how well a particular player get's along with a coach... I.E You could have a Favre/Holmgreen or a T.O/Reid and have it affect a player's play on the feild.
There should be a way for you to "coach" your players mid game. Lets say it's a wild-card game, last seconds of the 4th and you're on your oponent's 15You can call a timeout and inspire your players to do well, which could slightly increase the chances of a successfull play (we all know the computer does this when on a regular basis). Or the same for situations when you're on goaline on 4th down, if your coach is good enough, or perhaps allowing a coach to do it certain ammount of time's per game, add something like a "pep-talk" feature to inspire your players, temporarily increasing their chances of success for that one play... If a player don't get along (see T.O/Reid) then there is less of a chance of the play working out.... this is a rough idea. You should be able to do more with your coaches rather than just hire and fire them. There is a motivation rating, but they should get more specific with coaching in 07.
OFFSEASON:
Obviously, as mentioned beore, they need to overhaul the Free Agent, and Rookie Scouting.
FREE AGENCY is necessary but a BURDEN, especialy if you're on the PS2, because it takes so long to finish. First off the computer trys to tell you via e-mail you need a LB when you don't things like that. They need to have a team needs section where they go in depth with what type of positions you need to fill, etc. Perhaps even make suggestions on players becoming free agents that might fill that gap. And/Or Have FREE AGENTS contact you via e-mail saying they want to play for your team.
You should also be able to scour the other leagues such as the CFL (Jeff Garacia?)
ROOKIE SCOUTING: Has been pretty much the same since 99 and it needs help. Someone mentioned going to the combine. This is a good idea that can be really cool. You should be able to watch the drills (or skip them) and look at the results, conduct interviews with players, have a series of questions, (hundreds of them, not just a dozen or so like in superstar modes, as well as hundreds of possible responces), and have players be graded on how well they may be overall as a rookie and or how they would fit on your team. It's been to many times where the scouting report will say a QB prospect has unbelieveable accuracy and his accurcacy will be listed as "terrible"... what the heck is that?
As mentioned before, you should be able to allocate a certain ammount of players to NFLE. You should be able to check up on their progress, maybe your 6th round DE is leading the NFLE in sacks his second year? They could have some sort of "potential" meter rating theylikelyhood that a certain player is ready to try it out in the big leagues...
PRACTICE:
They need to figure more ways to improve your players. Someone mentioned the idea of having ratings be in decimal form I.E a 91.6 speed as oppsed to a 90.4 speed... maybe have it go up increaments of .2? This way you could allow more mini camps (which is needed desperately) or at least allow you to use them say, 3 times each or soemething along those lines.
GAMEPLAY: To expand upon somebody's fumble idea where everyone jumps in a pile to get the ball... they should have a meter, in which you have to press a button repeatedly as fast as possible to try and come up with the ball, or something along those lines.
Smack talk, there should be a ton of this. Of course the NFL has an image they want to keep, but everyone knows there is at on of it. Have a smack talk feature that you can use to lower another players morale. If Strahaan sacks Alex Smith you should be able to say something like "I OWN you." (anybody remember Deion Sanders Prime Time Football?) this could rattle that player and decrease his play on the field... this could be remedied by a big play such as a 40 yard touchdown pass for instance... allow this type of battle to go back and forth.... it would add more fun to the gameplay...Also even thought the computer does it, you should be allowed to press a button shouting "pass!" if the ball is in the air.... I'm too tired to type anymore, here are some more quick hits:
Other ideas:
Team Entrances....
Pick a voice (for when you're QB is calling cadence I think there is only 2 different QB voices)
More in depth on player morale and attitudes... with coaches, etc...
On field brawls/ejections from a game (for players with poor attitudes that get schooled on a play or something)
Something I got to thinking about. Microsoft has supplied a headset to be used to make games more interactive. Maybe a coach mode where you can interact w/ your qb and booth when you call plays like what happens in the real thing. Just an idea. Or make it so if you're the qb the coach tells you the play thru the headset and or you call them in the huddle via voice... something more interactive that puts the tools to use.
that would be cool, especialy with the new systems... I'm really hoping they make the franchise a lot more involved, it's pretty much all I play (as I'm sure most people who play madden do as well)
I've seen a lot of good ideas for improvements to the Madden franchise. However, there's one especially good concept that I've yet to see...
Seeing how EA trys to come up with "new and inovative" changes each year, (i.e. owner mode, training/mini-camps, hit-stick, and superstar mode to name a few) and then just tweaks a few minor things to the game... I thought it was time to integrate an idea that will be guaranteed to garner an extraordinary amount of interest: the introduction of FANTASY FOOTBALL into Madden. Tweak the game as usual to make certain aspects better, i.e.:
1) more realistic pass coverage and rush defense.
- everyone knows it's very difficult to cover recievers man on man for long; average corners do not knock down many passes, much less most, or much less linebackers and lineman who take on DB like attributes during pass coverages
- running backs do not get taken down so easily. it's very difficult to break open field tackles in the game, regardless of which players are involved. it could be LT vs. a rookie corner, if I'm using LT it's a 1-in-8 chance I'll break the tackle or juke the defender out! and i'm a good rusher!
- i'm not sure exactly how the "truck-stick" works, (as i didn't see '06 worth another $50,as i own '05) but if it could be altered so that each direction pushed on the right analog stick produced a different 'juke/stutter-step/fake' move for every player according to their skills...
- the current configuration of just L1/R1/spin leaves much to be desired, and a few trademark moves for the all star players could absolutely re-invent the Madden running game when combined with more realistic tackling for the defenses
- 2006's main ambition was to re-invent the passing game. the real bread and butter of any offense is the ability to run the ball. an offense that can't run often faces nickel and dime defenses, which btw are way too effective against the run, making it harder to pass effectively. I say give different juke moves for each player with each direction pushed on the RT analog stick
2) P.I. - or lack thereof
- ever have your WR be wide open in zone D running a crossing route run into the MLB in his drop zone? He'll be stuck on the LB for a few seconds, aparently unable to go around... any holding call? same in downfield routes. no PI is called, and the penalty meter does nothing. the only way i've ever seen PI is when i hit stick the intended reciever too early with the ball in the air. Fix this please!
3) blocking A.I. - or lack thereof
- kickoff returns, running plays, punt returns... etc. the blockers are dumb
4) tweak the superstar mode to make it even better/more realistic
5) make the QB vision easier to use and more effective
that's all i can think of for now...
Back to FANTASY FOOTBALL!
The interest in FF is already there. You've got TV shows on ESPN dedicated to nothing but fantasy.
Think about it, you've got your team in franchise mode. For fun, you can have a draft of all the nfl players by CPU generated teams, online players, or friends. Then, throughout the course of the years in your franchise you can play FF within the Madden realm. You play with the Raiders? You might draft Randy Moss onto your fantasy team because you plan on throwing deep a lot with Kerry Collins.
Who knows, there could be some kind of reward for having the fantasy team that scored the most points. Bonus attribute points or something worthwhile in the franchise/owner mode.
I think if FF could be integrated into Madden it would be kick ***! Millions of people play fantasy football nowadays. Guys in all kinds of jobs debate about their teams at work and have FF pools during the season. Why not make a good thing even better for Madden 2007, or an upcoming year?
My one big wish is "The Zoom".This is football to the max utilizing playmakers to there fullest capabilities.
The Zoom emphasizes on camera angles that make players realize what's in store for them. For example, if you were to throw a pass to a receiver in double coverage with poor receiver skills than the camera should zoom in on the gifted "positioned" defensive player
(Al Harris) while he intercepts it.
If you like to hit hard than the camera should zoom in on your hard hitter(Roy Williams) while he is engaged man to man with your offensive player because you are not really going to get pass Roy.If Roy is being joined with another player to make a tackle than the camera should really zoom in because you are not going anywhere. It's also smart because no receiver really knows in real life who is behind him or beside him to make a big hit which is scary but we know what is going to happen real easily by making the camera gameplay only on one camera angle as in the previous game versions.Let's make the upcoming version more unique and shocking.
--------------- Madden 2007 Next Gen football ---------
It's easy to say because the camera does look like it provides focus just for the quarterback and running back but just imagine what it would feel like playing inside the helmet of the other positions.
