Hey guys, I don't post very often...but i gotta say i'd love it if Urlacher was on there. The man is a force far greater than a healthy ray lewis and can cover more field than underated vilma.
Excluding any of the obvious choices i think if its an offensive player i like Carson Palmer and if its a defensive player i like Julius Peppers. Both are great young talents who have emerged lately and are the future of the league.
Pretty much from the word go he has been an awesome force...
At all the positions, the choices should be:
QB: Carson Palmer
HB: Shaun Alexander
WR: Chad Johnson
TE: Antonio Gates
Oline: Walter Jones
Dline: Julius Peppers
LB: Brian Urlacher
CB: Champ Bailey
S: Darren Sharper
Thats what I think anyway...

Dear sweet lord don't put Palmer or Johnson on the cover. My bengals don't need any bad luck. And I don't think it'll be Urlacher as he was on the cover of either NFL 2k2 or 2k3, forget which one. Which leads me to believe that they will go with Larry Johnson. 8 straight games of 100 rushing yards and counting. He deserves it.
even tho he prob had his worst year this year and he has already been on a diffrent game cover... id like to see favre 4

I been waitin for this very day, straight up clownin fools
i think payton Manning , Edrin james , or Saun Alexander should be on the front. Besides payton Manning has the best passing vision and edrin has runnig vision. Saun has most rushing yards this season

I let that one go cause it was funny....if this guy ever comes back...I want him to tell his age!
I hate to say this cuz im a fins fan, but Dwight freeney i think will be on the cover, i would love to see jason taylor which is a possiblitie, but its gonna be a defensive player.
they should put LT cuz hes awesum (ya and im a chiefs fan) or they should put (this is a joke) willie roaf cuz hes gone to the probowl almost every season ses been in the nfl.
QB Tom Brady (3/4 SBs last 4 yrs plus I'm a Fins fan and I've heard something about a curse:behead: )
HB LaDainian Tomlinson (Best HB in the game today and has'nt been on the cover of any game??)
FB Zach Crockett (Yeah Right a FB!!! LOL I'm not sure if he retired or not but Its fun to see him dive over the pile)
WR Marvin Harrison (The only Top 5 WR in the league who is not a jerk IMO)
TE ANTONIO GATES (It won't be a TE but im a Dolphan and this guy is one of my top 10 favorite players of all time)
OL Brian Watters (It definitely wont be an OL because they cant even be icons in madden but i think this guy is a key to LJs success)
DL Jason Taylor (My Dolphan special!!! I saw in a post on the first page of this thread that someone said he's old and declining. He may be old but not down yet. At least no more declining than when Marshall Faulk was on the cover of '03.)
LB Lance Briggs (If you need a young up and coming guy he's right here)
CB Champ Bailey (There is no REAL SHUTDOWN corner. They all give up plays. I just think this guy gives up less than most others)
S Troy Polamalu/Sean Taylor (Two GREAT up and coming safeties. I lean more toward Polamalu because he isn't a jerk)
K Adam Vinatieri (KICKER!!!??? LOL but you know Vinatieri is the best clutch kicker ever and...oh yeah that curse:biggthump )
Aight,
1. maybe Chad Johnson is a bit aggravating but he blows Steve Smith clear out the water, Speed, Ups, Evassiveness, and his overall cockiness just makes him 10x better than Steve Smith.
2. I really dont like the patriots but Tom Brady should of been on 06 cover not Mcnabb, cmon how many Superbowls & Playoff does a guy have to be in, none the less win to be a the damn cover.
3. Peyton Manning SUX, Colts have one of the best all around teams and once again since the Baltimore era they cant even make it to the confrence championships. With a RB & WR like Edge James and Marvin Harrison (Reggie Wayne plays a good supporting roll), and a defense that includes Dwight Freeney, Mike Doss, Larry Tripplett, Corey Simon, Jason David, Nick Harper, Bob Sanders, David Thornton, Gary Brackett, & Rob Morris, also lets not forget the choke artist of the year "I Hit Good" & "I would have bet a lot of money that that ball was going in" Mike Vanderjagt ( a 46yrd FG?...that Mike Nugent could of made) a guy who is supposedly top 3 Kickers in the NFL along with David Akers & Adam Vinatieri, misses the game tieing field goal. All this leads to my point that they have the caliber of a Super Bowl Guaranteed Team but no LEADERSHIP *hint* *hint* Peyton Manning
And Finnaly
4.If they go with a RB for Next Gen Madden why not go with a Next Gen RB..... Reggie Bush Fellas, who will be 99.9% most likely drafted 1st byt the Texans (sux to be him), No Offense but thats a franchise thats not ready for the Pre-Season none the less the Playoffs
Well thats all I got to say, so im out
~1Luv~ No Homo

Also Marvin Harrison I agree is on the Top 5 Best WRs, and everybody shares there own opinions of there top 5, so theres a bunch of great WRs that could be on the Top 5 that show madd respect.
Torry Holt, Steve Smith, Joe Horn, Andre Johnson, Deion Branch, Eric Moulds, Jimmy Smith, Javon Walker, Hines Ward, and My Favorite Santana Moss.... all these guys are canidadates for the Top 5 WRs and there all Kewl, Calm, & Collected.
If I forgot a respectful great WR, I Apologize

don't think it will be Bettis, as he is retiring this year.
And usually, the player they put on the cover is a high 90s overall... and they won't rate Bettis that high.
I don't want Steve Smith on the cover, he's already broken his leg...
--------------- Madden 2007 Next Gen football ---------
Steve Smith - 103 receptions. (tied for 1st), 1563 recieving yards (1st), average yards per reception 15.2, 13 TDs total, 1 running, (1st of all WR), longest reception, 80 yards
Chad Johnson - 97 receptions (5th), 1432 recieving yards (3rd), average yards per reception 14.8, 9 TDs total (7th of all WR), longest reception, 70 yards.
And then, here's my favorite thing... CJ having better ups then Smitty... funny thing is... smitty was jumping over 40 inches in training camp while catching passing, and he is 5'9"!!! CJ is 6'1"
Anything other reasons why you want to say CJ is better than Smitty?

Why not use retired players?
if the passing game is improved then it could be dan marino, john elway, or joe montana.
if the running game is improved then it could be walter payton, jim brown, or barry sanders.
if the defense is improved then it could be ronnie lott or lawrence taylor.
others could be Jerry rice and reggie white.
its just a suggestion, so that the player who is on the cover will always be great and wont have to worry about the "curse" of being on the cover.

hmmm that might work, tho i dont know if they would consider that
What about putting a kicker on the cover? that would be sweet, give them some recognition for their ability to kick the ball... far... but who would work?
