1 of the biggest problem I have is there is no way to improve your player speed. Just about very other attribute changes +/- but if your guy is slow your screwed this has to change. Solution = Implement a work out system where players can work on speed, strength, stamina, and agility. Also this should make weight fluctuate example – Say you draft a rb that is 240lbs with 79sp, 95str, and you make him do the speed work out the result should be (depending on how hard and how long the players works out) 230lb, 83sp (2 points for every 5lb lost with 20lb limit) and 91str (-2 points for every 5lbs lost).
20lbs would be the most you could lose from your base weight, which in this case is 240lbs. Now lets say you want to improve his strength and not speed, when he does the strength work out he gains weight from 240lbs to 250lbs with 77sp and 98str or brktak your choice. Now he is able to lose 30lbs but there also should be a risk to this if not used wisely. If in week 1 your player is 240lbs and you gain 2lbs per week by week 5 or 6 your player would get the attribute increase, but if you got greedy and tried to gain it all in 1 week your speed would be 75 and your strength 92. Showing the affect you the weight as fat and not muscle.
If you where doing the speed work and you lost weight to fast instead of 83sp and 91str as shown above your players attributes 77sp and 89str. Showing that your player is now weak and unhealthy.
you either have speed or you dont....it doesnt change that much....in reality

If you have a lineman with speed of 40 he can only gain 8 speed points his whole career. Speed of 48 doesn't make him fast! But it could really help if your player is border line. Picture it as (in shape) and (out of shape) Would Randy Moss be as fast if he was 20lbs. heavier? Probably Not!
What the game really needs is vision passing. No more throwing accurately to a receiver you aren't looking at. In real-life a quarterback has to go through his reads and look from one side of the field to the other and throw to the most open receiver. Madden 2006 better have this.
okay but speed is one of those attributes that you can't really improve. I mean you can slightly get faster but not that much. its something you have or you dont' like titans said. you don't want a lineman to lose any weight and power for speed, unless a Tackle, but even so its a trade off

Sometimes players can get faster... there's drills and stuff to improve that. From what I've seen, Scott Fujita of the Chiefs has gotten faster every season... but I'm looking through the eyes of a fan so maybe not.
