when i draft a rookie running backhe is like a 77 rating. that season ill rush for 1600 yards 4.9 average and 10 TD's, his rating will be 82, in the real world, a rookie RB (ex:Clinton Portis) rushes for 1500 yards, he will be a 92, same goes for all other positions....they need to fix that, also zone coverages dont ever work!
I thought the ratings were exceptionally high. After a short period of time, almost every player can be over 90. You can't expect a guy to progress 15 points in a season. His awareness doesnt go up that much, plus there are other factors. If I had a 90 rated RB after 1 season without having to work at it, I'd tear stuff up more than i actually do. you could get him to 99 with no trouble. and then what challenge would there be?
That really depends... If the RB had a terrible offensive line blocking for him then yes, he should go up that much. But if those yards were gained mainly because the offensive line gave the RB three YAC through pushing the line back then no.
In the Real world E. Smith likely had his carrier extended several years because of the offencive line he had in the 90's. Without that O-line he's not breaking any records.

just because you play a whole season, your awareness isnt drastically improved. Especially if the guy you drafted isnt the smartest. It's hard to improve awareness. i understand awareness should be better than it is. But that leads to my point wehre no stat should drastically improve. How many players do you see go into a sophomore slump. A lot, thats because people catch on to them, and their awareness isnt high enough to account for that.
So are you saying, that if you have a qb and you sit him for 2+ years, his awareness level won't get better? Here is something else. Can a player get better if their is someone better at his position on his team that he can learn from (qb 2 learn from bret farve instead of learning from a kordell stewart).
I agree that the draft picks or too low to progress to the point of an established star. Could anyone tell me the range of ratings growth a rookie or sophmore would expect to advance. I've played several seasons but i haven't paid attention.
when i draft a rb i don't care how high in the draft he is projected to go or what my scouts say about him because its all bs. if he doesn't run the 40 in less 4.25 secs, the cones in 3.8 secs, and has less than 30 reps. than i'm not wasting my time. even his injury prevention doesn't matter because its just not realistic enough too matter. if i'm playing with the player i'm hardly ever going to get a huge hit put on me anyway, especially with my draft choices. Also smart or not if you win back to back mvps or superbowl wins your awareness is guranteed to go up 20 points possibly in his first two seasons. What slump?
my fav name i've ever drafted is snoop gamble
on my LA Saints franchise (what a rb).
