Training Camp Incomplete

I love the idea of having a training camp. A perfect way to train prospect players and eventually become starting material. But, is this EA's idea of a complete training camp?

Whatever happened to improving pass and run blocking?

Fullbacks, Tight Ends and even Receivers can benefit from improved blocking. When you draft rookie coming out of college they ussualy have low run & pass blocking (and even some O-linemen) and yet there is no camp for this. If you can improve receivers to block better the chances of your running back breaking a long one greatly increases. Often times I see receivers going for a block and easily get shoved out of the way.

Whatever happened to Offensive awarness?

Sure, we can improve defensive awarness via "LB Chase & Tackle", but why can't an offensive player improve awarness? This is a big reason why defensive players progress faster and why offensive players (primarily running backs) gain 2.5 yards a carry and QB's throw more INT's then TD's.

Whatever happened to improving INJ and Toughness?

Players in the NFL goto workouts and train during the off-season to decrease the chances of getting injured. I have 3 running backs and their injury rating is less then 50. Don't ask me how to implement this -- I don't know. But it would be a nice addition to see.

Whatever happened to speed attributes?

Ever since I started playing Madden I've never witness a player increase their speed. What so? Players can increase their speed... Not asking for much, 1 or 2 points. I understand they can't jump from 80 speed to 87 but 1..2..maybe 3 points. There are drills that improve speed and also exercises, yet, when a player is drafted with 90 speed he stays that speed until he gets injured and loses 1 or 2 points.

I find Training Camp to be a very useful tool. This is only the first year that the training camp has be implemented and hopefully it will return next year with more drills.

Yeah the things that they added they didn't go into depth. They definitly could have added more things.

Something great would be the comp could show you the players working out. (draft picks) like watch them run the 40. Watch them do the catch. Or try them out. Like you can do the training camps with some of the draft picks (no actually increse attributes but test em)

I'm sure they will build on it next year, this yer was just an introduction...

But...

I have seen players go up in speed through normal progression (Pre-Season and end of year) Usually only one point but last year I had a MLB go up 2

and

Most Players gain those every year unless they get hurt and all of the young players gain it after training camp.. so that works out well and makes sense.

What would be neat is if you could go through the players and tell them to work on certain things durin training camp, possibly telling them to drop weight or add weight. Work on stamina, or speed.. etc etc and then the player would advance acording to what you have told them to work on more.

just a thought

Impossible

Sorry but that is impossible to bring up lineman and other peoples blocking it to hard say that u want to bring up somebody's blocking skills what are they go to do hit the sleds it would be boring i know u propably want the most realistic thing. But nobody would have fun doing the the drill and what would you have to bring up the injury make them workout doing what?
IT would also be boring watching them lift weight and workout.

Only thing i could see improving is speed and indurance
like do 40 yard dashes whole team doing it to build speed and for indurance doing 100 yard sucides or gasers(Running the with of the field up,down,up,down.) It is tiring ! And make it timed for the medals.

I think you could do some interesting things with the linemen...
You could do some type of sled type drill or maybe have 3 targets and one lights up and the people have to go hit it or sumthin...

Also, you could control their workout methods or something. Tell them what to work on, maybe even do something that makes them lift weights, I don't know...

YOu do not know it would be boring because you have no fun hit the button of the color that flashes up when u are going to block hit the sled.

our they could adapt the control when every you ar eblocking people like button change so people of the ball do not just dive and hope to block somebody when u are playing on the same team or u choose to be a line men it should switch control button.
so u could have a training camp where u choose a peson to block and a person to get to the objective and the point of it is to keep the person away from the objective until the whistle blows for the third time.

FIrst Whistle- Bronze

Secound Whistle- Silver

Third Whistle- Gold

No problem, but the only bad thing I see about that is that if you can choose the player that you keep away from the objective it would be too easy because you could pick the worst player and hold him off easily.

I think it should give you you're 5th best D-lineman in the first round, your 4th best in the second, and so on until you get to one. That would make it a bit more challenging.

yea that would be hard that why you could have a like a computer generated athlete that is post to the play the rusherwhen youare on rookie the overall level should 75-80 and the n in pro it should be 80-85 in all pro 85-90 and then in all MAdden 90-95

I don't know about everyone else in here, but i am in highschool and am aspiring to play college football. And in my opinion it would be great to be able to see your players workout, i mean, i lift weights all the time and it would be awsome to be able to see someone like Ricky Williams squat, or David Boston bench. O and i really disagree w/ the o line drills being boring, since thats the positions that i play

Okay...

well, you might be a little weird....

I mean, you wanna see a digitally created player to bench reps? Why?
