Madden PRESENTATION wish list
Here is my wish list for Madden 2005, and it all deals with the overall presentation of the game, so that it will make it seem so much more realistic.
1) Crowd Noise - The crowd noise in madden 04 was not up to par. The crowd should explode for huge plays...and they should be a LOT louder during important games and especially playoff games. I have to adjust the crowd noise manually in the sound settings in Madden 04, and that still didn't sound realistic.
2) Playoffs should have the look at feel of playoffs - There should be the NFL Playoffs logo on the field during the playoffs between the 40 and 50 yard lines like they do in real life, and there should be more banners showing NFL Playoffs. Also, during the SuperBowl, there should be Super Bowl patches on the jerseys. And, at the end of the Super Bowl, there needs to be a better ending, more celebration scenes, lockerroom party, trophy presentation, gatorade dumping on the coach, etc.
3) Halftime show during Reg. Season - Get RID of those STUPID looking cheerleaders. I think there should be a halftime show with sports analysts showing highlights from other games! They used to do that back in older madden versions....they need to bring that back.
4) More realistic player dress features - I think they should have even more realistic features to each player, especially during weather impacted games. Brett Farve should be wearing his hand warmer that he wears around his waist, Tom Brady should be wearing his gloves when it's cold and snowy, etc. I know they already do the long sleeves...but I think they should include as much player detail as possible (and maybe have the option to change them as well).
5) Fumbles - The game shouldn't tell you right away who has the football during a fumble...atleast not all the time. I think there should be pile ups every once in a while....and have the refs trying to sort through the pile and have players from both teams pointing in thier directions saying "our ball"....and then once the ref sees who has it...point in the direction of the team that has the ball and have the crowd react accordingly.
6) QBs should look like they are reading the defense - Have the QB come to the line of scrimmage and point to the WRs or to defensive players as he reads the defense. They should look like they are trying to read the defense and react. I don't think there is a QB in the league the DOESN'T read the defense.
7) Injuries - For severe injurys, have a cart come out and wheel them away. If they have a broken leg or dislocated knee, they arn't going to walk off of the field on thier own power.
8) During Time Outs, they should show the QB walking over to talk to the coach like they do in real life. They should also have the option to skip it and go right to the option menu if need be.
9) During Goal Line runs, have the runningback able to leap over the pile for a short gain or short yardage touchdown.
10) show more stats of players after they make a play, wether it's season stats, game stats, or career stats.
Those are my wish list of improvements for Madden 2005. I know a lot of people want to see improvments in the Season or Franchise mode and the salary cap and training camp modes....which would be cool as well...but I think that perfecting the presentation or the actual look of the play would make it look the most realistic. but that is my opinion.
