My few ideas
Madden 2004 was a very good game. There are a few upgrades possible to make it better, only cosmetic, nothing major that I think should be put in:
For the drafts have more information on the players, like their college stats, college awards, or even rankings either overall or by position.
Unrestricted and restricted free agents should be put in for added realism, since that's what madden prides itself on.
The crowd should be more responsive to the game, and look less 2d
Tackling should be improved, the styles of tacking, like a cut tackle that CB's do a lot (ie Ty Law when he broke Dallas Clark's leg ... I saw it in person... kinda cool).
More unique ref's whose voices you can actually hear... and their voices match their faces like a black guy with a southern white guy's voice.
Winning/ losing the superbowl should be more celebrated. Like winning should show confetti and a stage with the players and coaches being interviewed and whatnot. Not necessarily showing the inteview of course, just adding detail.
Retiring jerseys is cool when you play a franchise and rack up amazing stats for players like 26,000 yards. It adds to the history and accomplishments. Also add superbowl banners to stadiums.
Those are my little suggestions, I don't know if they are good or not they're just ideas. I don't know what you think.
