Patch Issues
In years past, patches for Madden have been downloaded by simply starting the console with the game in. A dialog prompt would pop up saying that there is an update for the game available and you would just download it.
I know that there is a new patch out (this week) and I am not getting this prompt to download an update for the game. After talking with EA, apparently you have to have an XBOX Live Gold account in order to play an online match and then you can get the patch.
Isn't this a little bit of discrimination? XBOX Live Gold accounts cost 40 bucks a year, while PS3 owners can go online for free. So, PS3 owners can get the patch for free while I have pay $40 just to get the patch; even if I don't have any interest in playing online.
Is this truly the case? And is there any possible workaround?
If it's supposed to pop-up when you first start the game, does anyone have an idea why this might not be occurring in my case?
