Fair Play (SIM) ball for Madden 2010

This is part of my post I used in another thread, but then I thought, why not start a thread and get some feedback on what people think. Maybe it's in here already, but I didn't see it.

I am an old school gamer. I play SIM ball, ufortunately I am a dying breed in the new "Madden culture". The days of pounding the ball and punting on 4th & 2 are gone. I have won the money in the Madden Challenge (Madden Challenge 95' in Tempe AZ * the NFL Experience) and Iv'e made the final 8 & Sweet 16 a couple times in the Regionals (San Diego & LA) in recent years. It's a shame that EA doesn't form focus groups with people that are like me that are out there. They know the direction the game is going, and who their new "Market" is. They sell more games to people that want to "Run-n-gun" it on 4th & 20 rather than punt. 1.9million copies in the past 30 days - they aren't going to fix S**T. I believe "Ranked" games should be SIM (Fair Play) just like the Madden Challenges. If they can set it up on the consoles at the challenges, they can do it online but they will sell less copies and that's just bad business for them. Last years Madden Challenge (knocked out in the 4th round) featured forced punting unless you were behind and they deleted WR DOUBLE PASS from the play menu - it was nice. C'mon EA.... it started with people like me playing it 20 years ago - remember us? No you don't!

I have a 14 year old Son that started playing online this year, unfortunately he gets his butt kicked every game and tosses the controller down in frustration because some punk runs the same glitch play every time and plays 4 down football to increase his odds. What can I tell him.... Join them if you can't beat them? NO... I feel that they way these punks play online is a reflection of their overall character. Yes...I know.... It's just a game, Yes, I know, it's their money, they are entitled to play how they want.. I just feel that there is a home for them in the "Unranked" world. Yes, in case you haven't figured it out... I'm an old guy...how old? I was already "too old for video games" when I was playing the original 20 years ago - lol.

I am "TORCHED4SIX" on X-Box 360.... Don't let the record scare you.... I play SIM ball & Glitch Free. I am also "LT4SIX" but never use it, I don't even think I have X-box live Gold on LT4SIX any more.

Hey man, I totally agree with you. I was playing this kid online (he was the Pats), and every play he would throw it deep to Randy Moss. I started lining up in the dime formation, cover 4, and he would audible and run it up the middle. He only had two plays, and I couldn't stop it for the life of me. I'd usually stop his deep pass on 3 straight downs, but on 4th down he'd throw it up, with two defenders guarding moss, and he would come down with the catch. Then he had the nerve to trash talk about the game. I told him, "Anyone can win by throwing the ball up to Randy Moss on every play. Try talking s*** after beating me when you can play with some actually skill and not luck.

I would definitely play you if I still had my 360. Unfortunately, I'm a PS3 guy now, which doesnt fair too well for online, but that's alright. That's a bummer; I think I would actually having fun losing to someone online if I played you haha. Sorry!

I here you. What really pisses me off are that run a no huddle to the same pass or run play all game long. I had a guy at 4th and 33, and he went for it at his 30 yard line.

No huddle bulls***. 4th Down cheesers. People that somehow know how to get me disconnected when im up 17-7 late in the fourth quarter. I try to play a legit game and the online world just doesn't seem to agree its rather frustrating. Torched imma add you and see what old school bring to the table
