Defensive Help

First off, I'd like to say hi to everyone here at Madden Boards.

So, I can play coverage very well with the safety and play the run great. But, the issue I am having is that I cannot get pressure without sacrificing 3/4th's of my team. I play with the Chargers and NE defensive PB.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

So far as I can tell right now... It's not possible to get good pressure on the QB in regards to sacks without making the game way too easy to play and win. No magic formations save what you have already said... Two LB's and a safety with the D-line going too will get the sack. Still looking into it, jury is still out.

I've been able to get a few sacks so far (have been busy, but have managed to play about five franchise games). Not sure what kind of advice I can give to you guys though as it sounds like you play as the safeties in your games. I've never really gotten into that (though probably should), and instead control Aaron Kampman on the d-side of the ball.

Yeah, I've never been big on getting a lot of sacks, and it's definitely tougher this year than in past years. I usually blitz with a LB when im trying to pressure the QB, sometimes with the right matchup the LB can bust through the line and into the backfield.

Well, I have been labbing offense so much ( been in every set of Pass Balanced going through every play), and with defense, I have found that spreading lineman and pinching them with LB's pinched has gotten me pressure sometimes, but not too my liking. Thanks for the tips, I will update if I find any gems.

I play on my safties too i dont get alot of sacks unless i blitz like 6 people lol

Try blitzing a cb every once in awhile Ive had ok luck with sacks defintly alot harder though like everyone else has said.

Mix up you're blitz's with man/zone blitz's.
And when you do it shuffle your linebackers and linemen around to adjust to the computers offensive formation. Stack the weakside or just attack a certain gap. Sometimes you can get a man to get through untouched and get the sack or make the QB throw right away witch ends up in a INT alot of time.

Play around with it.
Im in a 3-4 and i get a decent amount of success sackin the QB.
Not alot but ive had my fair share of 5-7 sack games and my fair share of 0 sack games.
Sometimes your just not gonna go near him though no matter what you throw at them.

I have found luck this year with the Jags defense and bull rushing with John Henderson. I dont really put any pressure with db's because most people know to throw the ball to the area where the blitzing db came from.
