Question HELP: Running and using special moves

Ok, how on earth do you run effectively? I know you are supposed to run patiently and not sprint so much. Allow your blockers to move ahead of you and create lanes.

But what I don't understand for the life of me is how do you know what special move to use on defenders approaching you for a tackle? How do I know if i'm supposed to use the juke left or juke right or head down or spin or stiff arm?

In the training mode, it tells you over the defenders head what button to press, but in the game it doesn't, so it's like a random guess on what will work.

Any advice??

The trainer is to help you get better and to see your skill level. In the game you just have to press button depending on witch angle defenders coming at you. what skill level are you playing on?

in theory, that sounds good. but in reality, it's all luck.

how are you supposed to know if a right juke or a stiff arm or a head-down is called for if....say...a tackler approaches you from the upper-left (say 10 o'clock)?

it's all luck/guessing.
