Xbl madden 09 "32 team league"
What's Up! I am starting an Xbox Live Madden 09 "32 Team League." It will begin on Tuesday August 12th, and it will be created with all standard settings and options. (HARDCORE/DEDICATED GAMERS ONLY PLEASE!!!) Join only if you are willing to stick with your squad "win or lose" all the way to the superbowl.

haha someone already has a madden league thread started and he already has 10 or so people signed up and wating so ima just stick with that one......
and besides, u already took my team u bandwagon jumper lol
i'll have to admit though, its gonna be a pretty nice change when the Vikes bandwagon fills up pretty fast after they see what we can do.

Vikings (AP)
The reason I started this league was cause I wanted to be the Vikings. I am in 3 other leagues and have unfortunately been unable to get them yet. I also joined the other league on here with the Titans, but it doesn't seem to be too active so we'll see how that goes.
As for the Vikings, I haven't had a favorite NFL team since Barry Sanders retired. I think I am becoming a Vikings fan because AP reminds me of Barry, but with more upper body strength; he is a beast! My madden style is heavy on the run with a quarter back highly involved in the total rushing yards. With Jackson being pretty high in speed I imagine that Vikings will be really tough with this style of play on Madden 09.
As for the VIkings this year in the NFL. All I know is that if they had any other top 10 QB in the league you could write them in as SuperBowl Champs!

if jackson plays any way half decent this year, the Vikings are a lock for the playoffs and once they get there, its a brand new season and anything can happen.
They had the #1 rushing attack last year and they have been #1 rush defense the past 2 years running. Their pass defense was the ugly troll of the defense last year and with the addition of (NFL Sack Leader) Jared Allen, their pass rush will go up which will allow the LB's to play more coverage. The opposing offensive line cant double team Allen and the Williams Wall all at once.
On the offensive side of the ball, u already know what Peterson brings to the table, but with the addition of speedy Bernard Berrian, he will be a deep threat and the idea is he will keep 8 defenders out of the box for Peterson to run and if they do stack the box, then over the top to Berrian it goes.
But basicall this whole season depends on Jackson, if he can have a half decent year, I dont mean put up Tom Brady numbers, but just limit his mistakes and turnovers, i think the vikings are one of the top 3 teams in the NFC.
You just watch my man as the vikings head to the top.
My prediction is that they lose in the NFC Divisional game to Dallas, but again, that all depends on Jackson

There are a lot of "IF's" in your analysis of the team. I agree that the addition of Allen will no doubt help that defense, but vault them to a "lock" in the NFC playoffs??? I think you are being a little biased here. The only reason that I sent a reply in the first place was to the comment of the vikings being "penciled in to the superbowl". The addition of Allen was a great plus with that defense, but the vikings will still be in the basement as far as pass defense goes. I agree with you that the vikes whole season will hinge on the performance of Jackson, which further proves my point that the vikings will not only not be in the superbowl, but they will not win their division and MIGHT slide into the playoffs as a wildcard.

I am not trying to bash your team or anything, but I just think you have a clouded view of reality when it comes to the Vikings. Maybe I am wrong, but I guess that is why they play the games.

you seem pretty confident there that they will not do anything good. And there was actually only one IF, that IF is named Tarvaris Jackson. Jackson still could emerge into a decent qb in this league. He has only had 12 starts and hasnt gone a full season of starting yet because he got hurt last year. He is still a young qb and will make mistakes but if he can keep his mistakes down then im not worried at all at what they can do. And if jackson dont do anything good, then they can just throw in vet Gus Frerotte who knows how to manage a game and take us there. I remember 2 years ago when Jackson went down and Brad Johnson stepped in and went 6-1 with us.
I think you are underestimating the vikings this year but im glad, i dont want the vikings to be everyones superbowl bound team this year, that way they can go right in under the radar just how the giants shouldnt have even made the playoffs last year.
Im also not worried about our pass defense either, they will prove what they got when the time counts.

If you look at what you quoted me in saying, I said, "If they were to get a top ten NFL QB, then you could write them in." With that said, I do believe that if they had any consistent QB that could take pressure off of the running game and keep defenses from stacking 8 in the box against them that they would be unstoppable on offense and really tough on D. If they got this type of QB, even a Brett Favre, I think they would easily be the best team in the league. If they don't get that, hopefully Jackson can step up and at least be consistent.

BearCat: Sure, you could still get in this league. Even though I will create the league on the 12th, you will have so much time to complete your first game. As long as you get the game a few days after it comes out that should be fine. Hopefully more people join and we can have at least 10 or 12 if not the full 32.
