Question Who should I support

I've never been intrested in American Football really, but I was bored a couple of weeks ago so I downloaded the NCAA09 demo and really enjoyed so i've decided i'm gonna buy Madden 09

Problem is, I haven't a clue which team I should be, I know the New England Patriots are Superbowl champions but i don't want to be a gloryhunter, so I'm asking you all who should i support, what teams have the best Stadiums, Atmosphere, History, Likeable Players that play exciting football

Thanks in advance

Well, if you want to root for an underdog the Atlanta Falcons could be a good choice.

Your hometown team is another good choice. Just for a reference the Patriots, Raiders, 49ers, Packers, Eagles and Cowboys seem to have the biggest fan bases.

Okay first off the new england patriots didn't win the super bowl they lost to the new york giants.

But play with the Buffalo Bills marshawn lynch, trent edwards, lee evans, marcus stroud and the unpredictable weather.

I am a Steelers fan so I'm sure you can guess the team I use. The Steelers traditionally have always had a strong defense and I dont think that will change much this year. Some top guys on the defensive side of the ball are Troy Polamalu he is a saftey and the Steelers usually have schemes set up for him to play all over the field I consider him to be one of the top safties in the league, although the past few years he has had some injury problems. James Farrior play Middle Linebacker and even though he is getting up there in age for a linebacker his play has not dropped off at all. Casey Hampton plays definsive tackle and he is a HUGE guy and he can cause a lot of problems for the offensive lines. James Harrison plays outside linebacker and started for his first full year last year and did a fantastic job, the Steelers other outside linebacker is Lamaar Woodley he will be starting for his first time this upcoming season and I think he will do a fantastic job.

On offense the Steelers have a very good qb in Ben Roethlisberger he can make a lot of plays when he scrambles outside of the pocket to pass the ball and he is not to shabby when it comes to dropping back to pass the ball. The Steelers starting RB is Willie Parker he is coming off and injury from last year but before the injury he was leading the league in rushing not to mention the guy is lighting fast, he will share the load this year with rookie rb Rashard Mendenhall who is a guy that can run you over or make some nice moves to make you miss a tackle. The Steelers have been known as a run first team but that could change a bit because they have some very talented recievers. Hines Ward has broken a few Steelers recieving records. Ward is not your typicall wr though he is a great possesion wr and he is also in my opinion the best blocking reciver in the league he also has some great hands to make a difficult catch. The Steelers also have a great deep threat in Santonio Holmes he lead the Steelers last year in yards and I think he will do the same this year as well. The Steelers also added a great wr this year in the draft his name is Limas Sweed and he will be tough for cornerbacks to cover since he is 6'5 and he will be a great option for to throw to when the Steelers are inside the twenty and looking to score a td through the air. The Steelers also have another great option to throw to in Heath Miller they guy has some great hands to catch the ball with and he is also a very solid blocker. If the Steelers offensive line could block then I think you would see Heath involved in the passing game a lot more.

And like others have said on the board you can always go with your hometown team.

If I was you, Id go with the team you get the best vibes from. At the end of the day no-one can make the decision for you. You fall in love with your team for different reasons than everyone else.

For me it was as simple as the uniform. I picked up a Titans one knowing nothing about NFL...And my interest went from there.

Personally though, if I was going to pick a new team, Id pick the Cowboys. History, great potential now. Some exciting players atm. I think the Colts must be a fun team to support too. But obviously, I hate the crap out of them.

If you are steering clear of teams, I would say steer clear of the Pats (you will forever be called a bandwaggoner) and the Bills (no offense to Billster, I just could not possibly be a Bills supporter).

If you want excitement right now though, I would personally say Adrian Peterson is the most exciting player in the league, so you may want to consider Vikes.

But like I say, the decision really has to come from you. And if you love the game, chances are, loving a team wont be that hard.

When it comes to stadiums and atmosphere, Arrowhead Stadium is just about as good as you get. That's where the Kansas City Chiefs play, in case you were wondering. As far as their team goes... ugh. On the upside they're really young, and although I'm not convinced their RB will be back to form I have no doubt that he is a beast on Madden. They'll be good in a few years, and then just like me you can say you stuck it out with them. If you want a young team you can watch develop, Kansas City Chiefs BABY!

the things you named all point to the dallas cowboys (my fav team). the problem is everybody & their brother is gonna be using the cowboys along with the vikings, patriots, packers, colts. a few years back i started using the jaguars & they are a realy fun team to use, so try something less obvious like the browns, raiders, cardinals, those teams have players that will work well in madden.

First off, where are you from?

Weather: I like playing in the weather. It's unpredictable and things could change. Makes thing more real.
Indoor Stadiums: Minnesota, Atlanta, New Oreleans, Detroit, Indianapolis, Houston, and St Louis. All other stadiums are outdoors. Outdoor Stadiums with cold weather places are Denver, New England, Cleveland, Buffalo, NY Jets & Giants, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Chicago, Pittsburgh. If you like warm places where it's mostly sunny all the time, then play Miami, Arizona, San Diego, Oakland, Tampa Bay.

Unifroms: I like uniforms, they just have to look right. Therefore, Carolina gets my vote here. I like Miami's as well. Their colors are awsome! San Diego I think has the coolest uniforms right now though. Cincinnati also has, I think pretty neat uniforms, with the Orange and Black. I like Cleveland's all white uniform with the brown/orange helmet!

Alot of people like Oakland, because they were the first to wear Silver & Black. They made it a fad. Atlanta also supports the Black. Ugly/Plain uniforms to stay away from: Baltimore, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, NY Jets, NY Giants, San Fancisco, Indianapolis.

Stadiums: Even though I am Carolina Panther fan, I hate playing in their stadium. As well as Jacksonville. I hate the CAT Roar they play ALL THE TIME.....it's get annoying. Therefore, stay away from teams with animal names...LOL!! Pretty much anyone with a new stadium will be awsome. I can't name those.

Fans/Noise: Anyone who plays in a dome will obviously be loud. Anyone would be a good choice, so here is a list of teams to stay away from if you want a good crowd...Arizona, San Francisco, Detroit, St Louis, Carolina.

Offensive teams: If you want a great offense, I recommend these teams. New England, San Diego, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Dallas, New Oreleans, Jacksonville, Minnesota, Green Bay

Defensive Teams: San Diego, New Englands, Pittsburgh, Carolina, Dallas, NY Giants, Minnesota....

Now, with all that said....the teams I like to use when playing are: Cleveland, Denver, and Carolina.

Most of the time, I do a draft anyway and therefore it doesn't matter who is on the team cause you get to pick your own players.
