These are my madden franchise strategies
Well since we all are complaining left & right about how madden needs to get better let's play a game on people's madden strategies, heres some of mine.
1. I play with the RAMS
2. All my WR must be atleast 6'4 and run atleast a 93 speed. I'll take A small WR for PR/KR.
3. My CB's are OK but I always have problems signing SS that dominate, even when I aquired troy polamalu from free agency, he never really play's like the steelers polamalu.
4.When it's like the 5th week of the season I'm always trading losing record teams down on draft trades.
5.Never waste salary cap on big TIME O-lines, I always go for the tallest 6'6 + and atleast 320+ POUNDERS that only have ratings of 65-75 and I can bet after a full starting season there rating will be in the 90s.
6. I love playing with big RBs but I would take a small shifty runner for 3rd downs conversions.
7.LBs must be atleast 6'2 250+ especially my MLB who's always my biggest LB because I hate undersized defensive players
8. OH yeah as a hardcore madden fan for the past 8 years I always play on ALL-MADDEN!.

2 and 8 I share with you, sometimes I do 4...
But for 2, I dont always get 6 4 plus. I look for physical freaks, as I was saying to Forenci just the other day...Guys like Chambers, the Johnsons, Matt Jones, Chris Henry, etc etc.
I am a speed runner kind of guy though, so I definately dont share 6 with you...
I dont look for size in LBs just their speed really, as in accel too...No point in being 90 Speed with 77 accel... Tackling can come afterwards, you can build that up...
I really dont care for Oline, I think so long as they are strong they will build up, since I make quick throws most of the time, and roll out a lot, Im prepared to have that be the weakest area of my team, and accept that means I will get sacked a lot if Im slow about my decisions..

#2 is something I like to run a lot. My usual top 3 receivers are Larry(6'4) Matt Jones(6'5) and Clarence Moore(6'6)
I used to do #4 a lot but I have quit doing that, they really need to fix the way they trade draft picks right before the deadline.
#5 is the opposite of me. I will spend more on my o-line than my "skill" players every time.
#6 is again the opposite. I usually have a small Norwood/Bush/Jones-Drew type back get most carries and a big back get carries when I feel it is good.

Guys, who besides Randy Moss, Drew Carter & Matt Jones is 6'4" or taller and has a minimum of 93 SPD.
Calvin Johnson would be if you import a roster file, but who else has these physical attributes besides rookies from upcoming draft classes?

Lelie is 6'3".... T.O. is 6'3"
Tyrone Calico is a 92, Burress is a 92..
Good point actually. There are people close but those are the only three who fit that mold.

Hmm...strategies.
I usually only use any kind of strategy with my defense. I like to take BIG D-line guys...i run the 3-4 so I like a BIG DT....like Dan Wilkinson or something.
For LBs...I like pretty light MLBs who are quick and can attack the line or blitz and get to the QB quickly. On OLBs I like guys who can muscle their way to the QB with a very aggressive pass rush.

Oh yeah that's another thing WARE94, all my DT tackle must be aleast 6'5 320because they can stretch the L.O.S and possibly be one of the top leader in tackles and sacks for the team. but I don't agree with alot of you guys on small LBs, it kind of look tacky and with the lead blocking thing they especially don't do well. Will witherspoon is ok as a small LB but the perfect MLB to me on madden is Carlos Dansby he got the size at about 6'4 258 and a speed of 86 and average 130 tackles a season for me. and another thing all though I would perfer 6'1+ 200 CBs, small CBs seem to be more dominent. especially creating turnovers

I don't use my line guys to do much sacking...i mean, if they get 5 or 6 that's an added bonus. I use them to tie up O-line guys so my LBs can do the dirty work. I use Bradie James and Akin Ayodele in my Cows franchise, and they work very well.
I started a Patriots Franchise and drafted Brandon Siler (6'1" 241lbs) out of Florida...a very undersized MLB with 87 speed...really quick. He makes clean tackles and can cover a 3rd receiver or an RB pretty well. It's a great option to have.

first off ware94 Brandon siler at (6'1" 241lbs) isn't very undersized at all, now if he was one of those OLB/DE types then he would. but tell me since your line isn't #1 priority break down your defensive ranking to me because I always lead in sacks,#1 in defensive tournovers and usually in the top 5 or 10 in total defense. my MLB avg 130 TKL, OLB 90 TKL each with atleast 8 sacks each, DE around 35 TKL with 10 sacks each, my RE always gets atleast 13-15 sacks a year, my secondary dominates!!, CBs 65 TKL 5 INTs, SAFTIES 80 TKL and around 3 INTs, 4 sacks.

Oh yeah Dansby is a good guy to have. But I can never bring myself to get him, because Vilma is rated the same by the CPU, and he is better.
Speed is the main thing that matters to me in LBs, though I do normally need one good tackler, so long as they are quick, and will get there, I am happy.
Whilst I limit myself to youth and speed...I dont give two hoots about peoples weight..And you know why? Cos I dont think Madden does either..

siler is pretty undersized on the game. he looks almost like roy williams out there (size comparison).
I usually finish in the top 5 in defense...in my 2010 season I finished first in overall defense. Ware had 16 sacks, both MLBs combined for 12 or so sacks, and Anthony Spencer (LOLB) finished with 9 sacks. Pat Kerney (RE) had 5 sacks, Spears had I think 7.

I dont think one guy finishing in a certain rank means his method is better...I am 98% of the time first of the league in D, dont remember a time when I wasnt. And I get **** loads of speed. That doesnt mean its the best way to do things...
