Gamestop Exclusive Inteview; Vince Young

1. So, the natural question, what are your thoughts/concerns on the supposed ‘Madden Curse’?
No, no concerns whatsoever. I’ve always been a man of God and I put my faith in him to keep me healthy and if something happens it happens. But hopefully I’ll be able to stay healthy and help my team make it to the Super Bowl.

2. What superstitions, if any, play into your own pre-game rituals? What’s the most bizarre one you’ve ever witnessed?
The only thing I do is put on my iPod and get jamming, maybe some dancing too. Can’t say that I’ve seen anything bizarre…Kevin Mawae walks around the locker room in a Hawaiian skirt but nobody is going to say anything to him about it. Whatever it takes to get ready for a game

3. Of all your teammates, who would be the toughest to beat in a game of Madden?
I’ve played against a lot of guys who take it serious. Probably the best I’ve played against on a regular basis is Roy Williams. He wins sometimes, I win sometimes. We have a lot of fun playing though.

4. After one year in the league, who’s the hardest hitter in all of football?
I would say either Sean Taylor from Washington or Robert Griffith from Arizona. I’ve watched lots of film on both of them and you always have to know where they are every single play. They can bring it big time. But after going to the Pro Bowl I have much respect for defensive players. They can be out there trying to make the big hit but and take you down but they’re not out there trying to hurt you. Ray Lewis – tough guy and he comes to play but he treats you with respect.

5. Who had the best touchdown celebration of all time?
No question, Ernest Givens doing the electric slide for the Oilers back in the day. I remember playing Pop Warner football back in Houston and everyone was doing it.

6. Of all the great players, both past and present, who would make up your “dream” backfield and receiver corps? Oh, I would have to say LT (LaDainian Tomlinson) in the backfield, Chad Johnson and Andre Johnson at receiver, Reggie Bush in the slot with Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates at tight end. Throw Deion Sanders in with my defense now and nobody’s going stop us.

Is it just me or does it seem like he has a really really dry personality? Anyways, question 6 I think was poorly answered. Past or present and he says LT, Johnson & Johnson and Reggie Bush? C'mon Vince, did you not watch football growing up?

Judging from question 5 he watched some football growing up...I guess he was just a homer and hated all the other greats?

Here's a question for you...who would you guys put in your backfield and receiver corp, past and present?

Eh... I would think he did. I mean I have my own opinion on what those guys should be... But most of them will be modern times also. Why? Because football players are faster, stronger, and they weigh more on average now a days than back then. And that's just the attributes of it.

Barry Sanders, Emmit Smith, Jerry Rice, Gaile Sayers, Michael Irvin, Lynn Swann, Dave Casper, Kellen Winslow Sr

...people like that.

Im always inclined to go with present players in any sport...People are quicker, stronger etc now than they were in the past...

Anyway, I think he's a good guy...And he obviously has a personality, as he rallied the team, as a rookie, to 8-5..With Drew Bennett dropping every other ball...

Well.. I don't care.. I would take Jerry Rice in his prime over any other receiver ever.. (just like I would take Deion Sanders in his prime over any other corner).

I watched those guys play.. and while Jerry Didn't have the physical abilities some of these Receivers now a days have his work ethic was 100 times better than most of them and his game awareness was phenominal.

I also wouldn't take Reggie Bush as my RB because he isn't a RB... Just because he isn't a guy I could wear out the other team with and THAT is what I would want as a RB.. but everyone has a right to thier opinion...

Yup, you got that right Cash. I may be a youngin at 20 years old but I know that the hot flashy sh*t we have these days doesn't compare to some of the players that graced the field back in the day.

Like you said, Rice ANYDAY in his prime over these guys, Barry Sanders or Emmit Smith, Deion....easy picks.

Eh... I would consider all of those players modern.

You should hear some of his radio ads...He's a total airhead and an idiot. But he's still extremely athletic. Bad accuracy though.
