Today we had the opportunity to meet with the young Redskins owner Tri and ask him about his thoughts and opinion about his team and the league.
TheBillster: ‘Tri, nice that you had the time to talk with us about things concerning your team and the league’.
Tri: ‘Hi, thanks for interviewing me. It is fun to be here’
TheBillster: ‘You are a new with your team is this league, Tri. How you do like it to be a team owner in the NFL, how was the welcome?’
Tri: ‘I thought it was very warming, I am enjoying myself very much here. I look forward to being here the foreseeable future and a long time after. Shame I had to be a Redskins fan though’. (Laughs)
TheBillster: ‘Tri, can you tell us your feelings now with the season so near to start? Are you exited?’
Tri: ‘Well, I am a kind of nervous and excited. I don’t want to mess up with my team right from the start’.
TheBillster: ‘Is there something special that makes you nervous like problems of your team or is it just because you don’t know where you stand at all after a lot of trades?’
Tri: ‘I think this is natural, I am pretty nervous as I don't know what to expect. As a rookie at my position, I am hoping I can minimize the mistakes I make and capitalize on the strengths of my team. I feel we have very few weaknesses and that our strengths outweigh those minimal weaknesses’.
TheBillster: ‘Let’s talk a little bit about your trades then. In all your trades, what was the intention or the motivation behind them? Was it to go after quality no matter of age?’
Tri: ‘What can I say? Toward the beginning of my ownership that was pretty much exactly my philosophy. I also went after solid defensive players such as London Fletcher and paired with guys like Sean Taylor and I feel we now have a solid Defense. Now, I look upon some of my trades and wonder what I was thinking, but I do not regret a single one as I feel like my team is exactly how I want it. I have also managed to maintain/pick up some youth along the way.
TheBillster: ‘Your team might look right now very near to what you want personally, but you cant overlook that your team has wrapped up a huge amount of salary cap hits for next season, how do you see your teams cap situation for next year?’
Tri: ‘I see us losing only a minimum amount of impact players next year. We should be able to survive next season despite what others in the media might thing. I believe we should be even better in the up coming years as I learn how to manage our finances better’.
TheBillster: ‘What would you say, what are the 3 positions on the field your team needs upgrades for the upcoming years?’
Tri: ‘I would not say we would need an upgrade, but we could use some more youth at QB, OL and on the DL. I am happy with the talent we have there but we might want to look for youth at those positions in the future’.
TheBillster: ‘The Redskins are playing in a very tough division with the Eagles and Cowboys, can you tell us how you see your team compared with them?’
Tri: ‘I see us being able to compete, overtake them? Maybe not right from the start, but I seeing us being able to hold our own’.
TheBillster: ‘And when do you see your team ready to overtake then?’
Tri: ‘Some may call me crazy but 2-3 years. Maybe this year, who knows? That’s why we play the games’.
TheBillster: ‘Hmm, I can tell you that I personally think that your team looks on paper pretty balanced now, maybe your lacking one more good WR, what do you think about that?’
Tri: ‘I believe we are still fine at WR. We could all use and love to have a Terrell Owens, but who wouldn't? We are fine with what we have as Passing will not be our first priority anyways. We will hopefully be able to ride Clinton for a majority of the way’.
TheBillster: ‘Tri, what do you think were the trades with the biggest impact for your team on both sides of the ball?’
Tri: (after long seconds of thinking): ‘I didn't make very many trades targeted towards the Offense but the trade with the Bills sending us RE Steve Foley and a 1st round pick is a nice one. First rounds picks are always a good thing to have and I am planning to grab an offensive playmaker with it. As for defensive, I believe the best one was when we brought in our field general Mr. Fletcher. A veteran leader like him is a huge help for our Defense’.
TheBillster: ‘Okay, thanks for the interview Tri; I hope you enjoy it to be in the league. Good luck. Any last comments?’
Tri: ‘No, thanks I am good. Just excited for the league to start. Thank you very much for the interview TheBillster’.

I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'
Oh i had Forenci's IM window off, that was where i blew off my frustrations.
