Hot Potato: Nish4x

"Short: I'm here with Arizona Cardinals GM Nish4x. Nish, now that we're done with training camp and the preseason is just around the corner, how do you feel about your team?"

"Nish4x: Well, I think we are very young, have a lot of talent, but there are still a few holes here and there. Right now we just want our guys, especially the young ones, to go out there and compete for a job this preseason. It is a difficult situation to be in, because while we want to win games, we also want to develop our talent. However, hard work beats talent when talent doesnt work hard. Right now we are looking for consistency, because those are the types of player we want on the field."

"Short: What would you say are the strengths of this Cardinals team?"

"Nish4x: Obviously, the receivers are our main strength. After that I feel our backfield will be very important to our offense with Fred Beasley leading the way for Edge. On defense I think we have an underrated linebacker unit after acquiring Warrick Holdman, but mostly the defense is comprised of one stand out player at each level. Dockett on the line, Dansby at linebacker, and Wilson in the secondary."

"Short: Sounds like a pretty promising squad. You haven't won a championship in 60 years or your division in 30+ years. Do you see either of those as a possibility this year?"

"Nish4x: As an organization we truely believe the NFC West is up for grabs. Our players are buying into the system and organization as whole and we have done the best we could to acquire talent, while holding onto our younger players. As I mentioned in the last question, our defense has one stand out player at each unit. Now that we picked up Mike Rucker yesterday, I think if our defensive line plays the way we think they can, we have a great shot at the division. We just want to squash the label of being a bad franchise and I think these guys are going to go out there and prove on the field that the Arizona Cardinals are for real and you better take us seriously."

"Short: Who do you think is your biggest competition within the NFC West?"

"Nish4x: The Rams and Seahawks both have elite offenses, but I would give the edge to Seattle, because they have a more complete team and a better defense. I cant wait to get out on that field against our division, because our guys are chomping at the bit to get out there and smack somebody else around, besides their teammates."

"Short: Well, no matter what happens, you certainly did your part as the GM this offseason, bringing in lots of new talent to help you compete in your division. What would you say was your most important acquisition this offseason?"

"Nish4x: The three guys we brought in on the offensive line (Rabach, Garza, and Villarrial). Without a decent offensive line we would have to limit the types of plays we run. No seven step drops, more shotgun, less playaction. With the addition of these three guys we are solid all the way around. I think the most important guy will be Rabach, because we are counting on him to make the right calls and help Matt set the protection at the line. After that I would have to say bringing in Chris Harris, Fred Beasley, and Mike Rucker. Harris gives us quality depth at FS and should be able to step in and there be no drop off. Beasly was a huge addition, because you can not underestime the impact a great fullback have can on a running game. I know Edge doenst like to use a lead blocker much, but Fred Beasley should clear the holes for him. Rucker was a last second addition that we desperately needed. He should solidify our defensive line and his impact will be shown in the development of our secondary. We need a pass rush with two very green corners. If I had to pick just one, I would say Rabach because our line will develop around him."

"Short: That's about all the time we have...got any last minute predictions or statements you'd like to make before we wrap it up? Who do you like for the Superbowl this year?"

"Nish4x: The Chargers are loaded and I think they have to be the favorites, or at least one of them. Dont sleep on the Cardinals, we are a franchise on the rise and I, along with the rest of the front office, are going to make sure this organization turns the corner and never looks back. Thanks for having me and I am looking forward to doing this again."

"Short: Thank you for your time."

Very Nice. This looks like it's obviously going in the right direction. Cash, is there anyway to make this it's own section?

You could throw it into the IM section.

An Interviews section has been made in the Sim League Area. And the two Hot Potato threads have been moved to it.

Another good interview, and I think its good that this has its own section for the board, means we will probably keep this going

Well, it's just my opinion. Others might disagree. But to say the least, it'll be the most... Entertaining...
