Hey everybody, I've been here maybe a month or so, not really sure, and I never posted anything in here so I just thought I would now to let everyone know who I am.
I wasn't recommended to this site by anyones, I was just searching for the latest mock draft about a month ago and found this site, looked around for a little bit, seemed like a pretty cool site to me, so I joined.
Anyways, I'm still in school right now (Wisconsin) and I'm hoping to become a sports journalist. I've loved football since I was maybe 5 or 6 years old. I played football when I was younger but in my freshman year of high school I was expelled for posession of marijuana.
(Just to let everyone know I haven't done any kind of drugs since then, even though a few friends of mine smoke, they know I don't do anything of that sort, and I don't let them smoke in my house or car)
After being expelled I was reinstated to the same school one year later under certain conditions. One of the conditions was that I was to be off school grounds by 3:00pm every day, meaning I wouldn't be allowed to participate in any after school activities, including football.
So after that (and even before that as well) I've followed football closely and I am a huge fan. I'm not really sure what all the rules of the sim league are but I'm hoping I'll be able to get in it eventually.
And thats about all I can think of to tell you guys right now, if theres anything anyone needs to or wants to know feel free to ask and I'll let you know.

That's a odd thing to do to a student. How did they justify that?

The reason they were able to get away with that is because it wasn't during school hours when it happened, so apparently they thought I was going to be getting into trouble after school.
Another one of the conditions was that they would be allowed to give me 6 random drug tests per school year the rest of the time I was at that school, and in case you were wondering I passed every drug test given to me.

Wouldn't say.... Football practice kind of restrict you on how much trouble you could get into? Don't get me wrong guy, not saying your lying or anything... Sounds like typical feel good BS from the "peers" to me.

Nope, wasn't wondering... Welcome to the board man, enjoy your stay.

They always preach how staying active in school activities keeps kids out of trouble... If they let you play on teams and you did the random tests I dont know.....seems pretty foolish of the school administration, but there are a lot of foolish things going on with schools nowadays so its hard to say.
Was it a private school? I don't know about the difference in state laws, but I was a teacher for one year before I deployed and that would have been illegal in the public schools here in Arkansas...

It was a public school, but in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I'm not sure if the laws would be different in Wisconsin than Arkansas.

First of all welcome to the "Best Damn MaddenBoard Ever"
As for your school drama I think that the punishment was very outlandish, unfair and illegal. I really hate it for you but it does seem like you're doing the right thing now. Everyone makes mistakes but it what you do afterwards that make that person.

Am I only the one that thinks that's funny, Griffo Welcoming him...

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
No, you are just the only one to say anything about it. I said something to Cash about it like four hours ago.

Welcome to the board. Noticed you're from Wiconsin and posted Brett Favre on the Madden '08 Stats topic...taking a stab at it that you're a fellow Packers fan with me and ripper?

Yes I am a Packers fan, but I also like the Eagles and Bengals...
I currently own 3 jerseys -- Reggie White, Donovan McNabb, Chad Johnson...
(The 3 teams I like of course)

Well I actually wanted the Titans to win that game, but it was a great tackle and one of the most memorable things from any Superbowl in the last few years...
