UNless this will truelly break someones heart
Unless someone is going to fling themslef out a window over this.. I'm only going to do two rounds tuesday of the draft.. those will be the last 2 I do, I will then Sim the rest... doing this draft is hard work on me and it is starting to wear on me, I'm ready to get the season kicked off, and at this point the people we are drafting there is no huge difference..
So unless someone seriously objects... you can get me you boards for the last 2 rounds by tues morning at 8 a.m. CST...
If you already got me a board with enough positions.. I will use it unless you send me a new one
If only doing 2 more rounds will crush your heart..post and let me know...

Of course, I am up for anything... BUT... I think there are some things everyone should know...
I ran a fantasy draft with my Madden, drafting the same players for everyone up to ROund 20. From there I simmed the rest. I did notice several things though that are essential for User Controlled Teams to note...
1) When a game is simmed, the QB likes to throw to several receivers and just not the starting two. Several games I noted that the 3rd, 4th, and at times 5th WRs were in the mix. This was nearly every week.
2) Backup HBs run the ball about 3-5 times a game.
3) The backup FS gets more playing time due to specific defensive formations like the Quarter.
4) Nickle cornerbacks are on the field on nearly every big passing play making them essential to the defense, especially since the CPU teams like to smash their depth charts and put the BEST WR as the 3rd WR. This also applies to Dime packages.
5) Although not as big of a point, the backups compose the Special Teams in most cases.
6) Players do get fatigued causing some backups to play sparingly.
7) After recording the draft selections and creating the running rosters for every team, CPU and User controlled, I have noted that the CPU more often than not selects a player with a very low rating over a player with a higher rating for reasons I do not know. I think it is just a trend that the CPU has when selecting players.
So, as a conclusion, in the simulated season that I did, which matches the rosters up to the 20th Round, 10 (TEN) of the 12 (TWELVE) playoff teams were user controlled. Most of the CPU teams were trash, which is good news. But take into consideration that this reflects on how the CPU drafts players. I will be updating the rosters on the website and on my saved version to redo the "experiment."
I, personally, would not suffer a massive depression attack if we only did two more rounds, but I personally would like to handle the next four like originally stated. Of course, I am not going to push for it. Opinions are ESSENTIAL so POST your thoughts!

cash- first off, let me say this...I won't fling myselft through a window if you only do two more rounds.
However, stunner brings up some good points. In my case, I still have 2 defensive starters to pick (DT and SS), plus I really would like to select my 3rd CB. I'm sure the CPU would pick decent starters at DT and SS, but I'm worried that they would ignore that 3rd CB since it is not a starter...then my Nickel formation would be screwed. Then on top of that, you look at the importance of depth at WR. Who knows when the CPU would pick then for my 4th WR.
So, obviously I would like at least 4 more rounds. But, you are the commish doing all the work (and I do appreciate it), so that gives you the power to do whatever the hell you want.
P.S. - Does it make it any easier for you to draft when just given positions? Maybe we can do 2 rounds with the option of a draft board with names...then 2 more rounds with position only boards?

Ah! A good point to MBoss! Does positional drafting create a burden? In this instance, I would feel good knwoing that I at least obtains the top person at that position... beyond selecting an individual for at least the next two.
Ok, I'll stop here. Cash, this is all up to you so I support you no matter what. At least we have a nucleus of participants that actually put effort into this competition.

OK we will do 2 rounds like we have been, and then 2 more rounds positions only.. those second two rounds are strictly positions only.. which means no pm's telling me to select someone no IM's asking me whos left, no nothing other than a board with 2 positions for those last 2..
The first 2 we can do normal...
Ok? Okay...
I'll do the first two tommorrow... UNLESS a miracle happens and I get the boards today.. then I'll do them today...

Oh by the way I forgot to post this, but remember everyone can set thier sliders for thier coaches which means some of your sim stuff would change.
For example there is a slider for how much a coach uses his 1st and 2nd running back.. a person could set that all the way 100% 1st back...
Also people can re-order thier depth charts, so that will change things also... I'm sure you thought of this but you didn't post it so I thought I would for everyone else...

Man qb, why didn't you post all that stuff before the draft? Oh well, I'll mess with my sliders.

Is there also a slider in madden2004 for the Fullback and his playing time??
As far as i know this kind of games are designed the way that unspectacular positions like FB are almost forgotten...
I would like to use a more active FB in my team....

Well, you missed out because all the good FB's are gone. But, I know what you mean. I'd like to use Richardson more because he's such a strong player and he can pick up some nice yards for me.

I only need a above average blocking FB.
A block first and catch then FB would be nice. My FB will be involved more in the passing game, like Larry Centers for example. I hope that i can chance the play calls and playbooks the way that my FB sees more playing time as a receiver.
I dont want my FB in the running game as a rusher. I drafted Emmitt Smith (overall 81) for my second rushing option already and he should do a great job as the No.2 RB...

Yeah but you have to find a good FB first, which you can't because none are available.
