The Anatomy of a draft board.

Ok I am posting this to help some people that may get absolutely destroyed in this fantasy sim league.

On a quick not I only have 6 draft boards right now.. thats not so good.. If I don't get a board from you by monday at 10 P.M. I will replace you with a CPU team, see even if your board sucks.. its better than not being in.

Now: To help people from there boards sucking.. To help people from getting completely smashed apart in this league I want to give a few pointers.. after all I want this to be a challenge for everyone. And thats what this board is about sharing gaming and football knowledge.

Some of you are sending me boards that are position based. And thats your decision. If you want that, fine, but your team is probably gonna suck. Let me explain.

For example say you tell me you want a running back in teh first round. Then you give me a list of 20 Ruinning backs... Now lets say everyone else wants running backs to and they draft above you.. you are left getting the 20th running back on your list who might be a 85 overall.. instead of taking a 99 QB or a 99 WR...

Thats insane!!

Ok let me give you some numbers
The 20th QB is a 83 OVR
the 20th RB is a 86 OVR
the 20th WR is a 88 ovr
the 15 TE is a 81 OVr
only 6 center are in the 90's
20th MLB is a 83
20th CB is a 86
20th Kicker is a 80

Now not counting Kickers and Punters the 20th VOR player is a 97 Get what I'm saying?? You should be drafting someone in the first round thats at least a 96 or better!! But if you do it by position you could be getting a 80 something!! The 40th player overall is a 96. There are 143 players not counting kickers and punters that are a 90 or better.

This is a SIM league. The players are going to play for you.. You can't play them.. You want the best players!!

Now having said all that you can do your board however you want.. but if you don't give me a well thought out competitive board, expect to get thrashed by theose who did... so put some time and effort into this.. I want it to be a challenge for everyone.

Everyone needs to read this, and some of you may even want to re-submit new boards to me..

Ok.. A little more here.. Running a SIm league takes A LOT of work.. and if you are not willing to do some yourself then don't be in it.. Don't send me an email telling me to draft you the best QB in the first round.. Send me a DRAFT BOARD give me a list of players to chose from. Do a little work.. I'm doing a lot, and giving away a free game.. seriously... c'mon

This is the process I followed when submitting my Draft Board...

As an example, when I made mine I only made a list of 32 players for each of the first two rounds - 32 merely because only 32 people will be selected so there is a high chance that at least one of the players listed will be available. I then made a list of who I wanted. I started off with one position and moved onto another when I felt that the talent wasn't deserving of a pick. I did the same for the second round but let Cash know that if the position I have listed first in that round was already chosen in the first, then he could move on to the next position.

Example:

Round 1
1. HB Ladell Betts
2. HB Sammy Morris
3. HB Musa Smith
4. HB Curtis Keaton
5. QB Sage Rosenfels ---> I stopped at Keaton because I felt that he was the last quality HB to get in the 1st so I went to my next position of priority
6. QB Mike Quinn
7. QB Seth Buford

Round 2
1. QB Sage Rosenfels ---> I just started at the next position of priority in case I got my HB in Round 1... if I did not and got a QB instead in Round 1 then I could tell Cash to draft the next position on my list... WR.
2. QB Mike Quinn
3. QB Seth Buford
4. WR Tyrone Calico
5. WR Charles Johnson
6. WR Karl Williams
7. WR Larry Foster
