As much as I’m not a big gun fan, I agree with that. I think if there were going to be gun laws, they should have been in force years before there were millions of guns made. It's too late now for a law like that to really make a difference, without invading the privacy of every citizen in this country.

I agree to a point. I think that if guns are readly available to all, even the dumbest person can get one. And lets be honest, most people running around with hand guns that are police aren't overly bright.

I also think that the qualifications for getting a drivers liscence are to easy. It should be harder, and if you aren't good enough, well then you just never get a liscence...
Qualifications for getting a gun should be hard. Should be harder than what they are.
But the basic question was am I for or against the right to bear arms. I am for that right.

Ok... Just some things I was wrapping my brain around while I'm waiting for the damn hollowween thing gets done...
Lets say that the U.S. Government declares marshall law, and everything pretty much ( oversimplification I know ) turns into a communism. The majority of people within the US don't really think that's it's a good idea. What we have here, is a very armed populous which, when compared to the rest of the "west", are more than happy to die for a cause.
Pick another government in the 'west'. They decide to declare the equivalent of Marchelle law. What happens? Because I'm thinking... The government pretty much does what it will in all save France. No, that's not a cheap shot. It's just a shot at them. <bad joke>I think thousands would be trampled as they run from one another, and like a herd... They'd sooner or later all get going in the same direction just to feel safe and completely forget about why they were running in the first place. </bad joke over>
And I'm trying, and not succeeding to tell you the truth, of wrapping my mind around a communist country where the right to bear arms is in place.

wait... so basically you are saying that we should have the right to bear arms because if for some reason a screw went loose in all those in power, and they tried to turn this country into a dictatorship, because the people have weapons, the people have the means to take thier country back?
