BEIRUT, July 13 (Itar-Tass) - Radical Shiite grouping Hizbollah has effectuated its threat and fired missiles at the major Israeli port city of Haifa.
Al-Moustakbal TV channel said several missiles detonated on the approaches to Israel’s main commercial and passenger port.
Earlier, Hizbollah issued a demand to lift the blockade of Lebanon from the sea and from the air but the Israeli military command rejected the ultimatum.

I think it is summer and at the moment some guys are on vacations.
And, of course the Palestine groups get the blame. Why dont we start discussing this Israel-Palestine thing from the start, 60 years ago?
All begun as the world leader nations wanted to give the Jews a new home to be after the Holocaust. They decided to give them a home in a place that the Jews left 2000 years ago. Unfortunately a long time ago a whole new group of persons settled down in the *holy lands*, the muslim Palestine folks. The world decided to take away their home and country and to give it to the Israelian people. What kind of decision was that? This huge problem was really self-made. You cant give a nation/group a new home on grounds and land in which other people are already living.
I dont have much time at the moment, but if we want to discuss this stuff we should tell the whole story. I will be back in the next days to discuss this deeper.

Compare this two scenarios:
Imagine Palestina and its folks. Now the Jews come and say: " we lived here 2000 years ago. We want our place back!" The Palestine people dont want to give it back and lose their homes. I understand that.
Imagine the US now. Now the Indians would come and say:"we lived here 2000 years, we want our home back!
What would the US do? I dont expect them to give the Land back to the Indians...
So, you cant expect the Palestine group to accept something the most US citizens would never accept for their own country.

In reply to your scenerio Billster... according to you the 'world' gave the land to the Jews... Now I don't know much about this cause quite frankly I don't care... but I'll respond to your scenerio..
If the 'world' told the US "Hey you have to give the land back to the indians" I would suspect our response to be "make us"

Of course i meant the worlds powerful nations with 'world'...
As far as i know it was Great Britain, France, Germany and the US (not 100% sure about the US okay for the 'holy land' campain) which thought that would be a good idea of bringing back the Jews to the 'holy land'.
So, all this Countries are responsible for creating this mess. Now they are also responsible to find an accepatable solution for all parties, Jews and Palestine folks.
If the 'world', the UN, if the US really want a peaceful world they have to do something to finish this terrible conflict, and not only to the favor of the powerful Israelian nation.
Germanys big problem in this conflict is that they feel still guilty because of the Holocaust and dont want to say something against Israel.
Ok, gotta go and enjoy my vacations now. This must stop: ---->

You wouldn't have to as much if you'd just accept the UN for what it is. Good at anything that doesn't involve conflict. It's the worlds red cross on humanitarian and economical needs. That's it.
History hasn't proven that it's capable of handling this situation. You can hold on to that hope if you like, but it's misdirected I think. It gives a bandaid when surgery is needed.
Don't look to the US to do anything Billster... We aren't the world police remember? Hot damn, with the hand out when if favors a PoV. Right now I'm thinking that you believe the US is some kind of personal fix it guy. How about you get others to fix their own damn problems? Or perhaps someone who *really* cares... Like, I don't know... FRANCE to do it. They know all about how to fix anything and everything. Just ask them. Hindsight is one hell of a thing after the fact.
Do this, don't do that... If the US would just... Blah. You want something done right, YOUR WAY... Then do it yourself. Otherwise I don't see how anyone can bitch about the results that didn't do ANYTHING.
