Ok. So we're 0-3. Before I hear people question the team even farther, I just want to make it clear that in these first 3 games we've just been looking at who can do what, and Trent and LJ have yet to see the field (except for Larry's one carry as a 3rd down back). Weigmann, Waters, and Shields have not been on the field either. So I don't want to hear about a lack of offense.
In this game, without the key players I mentioned, we did learn a lot about our team. Kennison's still got it, Williams is going to be solid this year, and Croyle probably is not the guy for us in the future. Not that this couldn't change, but he hasn't been too impressive in the pre-season and this was his worst performance yet. Huard will serve as Trent's main backup.
Defensively we were also without some of our key players, but we did an effective job of shutting down the Rams pass. Our rush defense will improve when Buckner starts to play, and we play our safeties. Antonio Cochran is making it really hard to keep him off the field. I would count on seeing him in the game once the regular season rolls around.

It's not that I am happy with the team, I just feel like others are being overly critical of this pre-season. I don't think I've gotten a good enough look into the first team. I'm looking to Week 4 to tell me what our strengths and weaknesses are.

With saying that this is just pre-season I still wanted to ask a question about your teams Defense here.
What I see is that your teams seems to have big problems to stop the run. Do you think that DT Buckner and the return of a solid but not great Safety group will change very much?

I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'
I guess we will just have to see. I'll let their play do the speaking, because as much as I say they will shore up the run defense everyone keeps questioning it. It's like everyone forgets that two rookies have played almost the entire pre-season at the safety slots. And yes, I think Derrick Johnson being in the starting lineup will help too, in case you were going to ask that.
