This was a good game for our team. Any win helps to build confidence in a young team like ours. Our players went out and performed against the team they played.
Schaub got his first chance at running the offense and did good, We let Vick handle the game in the second half and get some experience.
This is just one pre-season game, so there are no knee jerks here. This game means nothing really except evaluating talent and letting players get experience.
Next week we will probably get Fry in the game to see how he can do.
The only thing left I have to report is that Braylon Edwards suffered an injury in this game and the timetable is looking like he will be out for the first quarter of the regualr season.
Any questions?

Whether the Pre-season or regular season putting up 40 points is not an easy task in this league. What do you think came together today to allow this to happen?

with the news that Braylon is gonna be out for a little while, are you gonna be looking to sign another WR?
This is unlikely. We are at the Max allowable players on our roster by the league and would have to release a player to do this. Other players, Tight Ends and HalfBacks can fill in at WR in certain situations and we still have 4 healthy receivers.

I wouldn't grade a player after four qtrs of football which is what he has played. Matt has some things he needs to work on and we are working with him on those things.

I would say the poor play by the Lions QB's is what attributed the most to this score. We took the ball from them 5 times Four were interceptions in the first half from thier young QB.
We also got a lot of sacks that were from thier QB's inablility to make decisions.
I'm not trying to take anything away from the performance of our team. I think Schaub played well and Our two main receivers had good games, but we were also playing against mostly backups out there, so it was just like a practice game against the second team.
You should be able to do this against a team like that.

The result of this week's game seems to be a complete 180 of your first game against the Eagles. Did you do anything different, did your players take that first loss a message, or did the Lions just play that bad?

At this point after having only seen our team play 2 preseason games I would have to say the difference between the two games has been quality of opponent.
The Lions aren't a very talented team to begin with, add to that they are playing mostly backups in the pre-season and I would be surprised if they came within two touchdowns of any of thier pre-season opponents.
It's obvious they don't care about the pre-season, and thats ok like I said this was just like a practice for our team. Unfortunately it was a practice in which one of our key players was injured.
Our team is young and developing. I think the game next two games against the Bills and Bears might give us a better idea of where we are heading into the season. At this point the only thing we are trying to accomplish is getting better as a team. Some teams are fortunate enough to play to win the game, we are playing to get good enough to someday win the games.

Will we see more from other Wide Recievers such as Hakim, who you paid a pretty penny for?

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
Hakim will see more playing time while Edwards is out. We signed him to return for us, and as an insurance policy in case of injuries. Looks like we will be filing a claim over the next few weeks on that insurance policy.

It's rare in a game see a player on defense get a pick, a sack and a pass defensed. you had three. How would you evaluate your defense thus far in the preseason?
