Well, it's always good to get the first one out of the way. We came out of the game without any injuries, so thats good.
Pre-season is a time to see what you have, so that is what we did this game. We were looking at the players we have and evaluating play. Both QB's threw a pick, that's something we have to take better care of.
Steve Smith did not play, and might not play at all this pre-season since we know what we have there.
We worked some of the yougner guys in, we let Marcus Vick run the first half offense to see what he could do, and I think we got a good idea of that. Schaub played in the second half. I don't want to be overly critical of our offense, but coming into this game we thought the offense was the strength of our team and we might have to rethink that now.
We had 5 dropped balls on offense, that needs to be corrected. It looks like the offense needs work all together. In every aspect, it just wasn't pretty.
Special teams were solid the Kicker was 100% and our punter did well. We got some solid returns in the return game. Our return coverage was excellent.
I think the defense performed above our expectations. The Eagles have a solid offense and we held them in check for the most part. We came out of the game with 6 sacks so that is some solid pass rush there.
Losing never feels good, but this being only pre-season it was a good scrimage and we learned a lot about our team.
Any questions?

Starting Marcus Vick caught some people by surprise. Is there any chance he is the starting QB week one of the regular season outside of injuries forcing that decision?
We started Marcus Vick for evaluation purposes only at this point Schaubb is our starting QB. But our team is in a definate rebuilding stage and things can change if Schaub does not perform well.

You said you let Marcus Vick run the first half offense to see what he could do, and that you think you got a good idea of that...
What is that idea?... Is he not ready to play Quarterback at this level?

I decided to start Vick to see if he could play QB, or if we needed to sign another QB and let Vick go. I think he showed me enough to prove that he can play QB, but he does need to learn alot before he would be anything other than our 3rd (developemental) QB.

is there a plan to play taylor at allin the preseason or are you more like to the 2nd string competition? That is assuming the backup position is open for competition.
Fred Taylor started at FB for us in the second half. As you can see we don't run the ball much with our Fullbacks. At this time there is no thoughts of starting Taylor at HB, what we are really doing is seeing if we have a 2 RB rotation or a 3 RB rotation at HB.
