I figure that sense this is the very first press conference of the new league, I wanna make this one special. So, I'm gonna make this in the style of my old roleplays I used to do a while back. If it's lame, let me know, and I wont do it again. If it's good, I'll try and do it more often.
*****End Note*****
The room is silent as the Bronco's press conference crew is setting up the room. Chairs are being set in two columns, eight chairs per row, and sixteen rows per column. The Broncos logo back background drop set is being set up. A few crew members take a quick break to get some water from the water dispenser. As the backdrop is set, a small podium is brought between the two columns. As the press conference room is set, the doors are opened to the public. Slowly the room starts to fill. As the final seat has been taken, the cameramen start to get into place. The Reporters from across the NFL world are starting to talk, and are slowly getting louder in there talks. A man in a brown suit comes in from the other doors. The man slowly walks to the podium and does a quick nod to the camera as the reporters start to quiet down.
Cameraman A: In 5... 4... 3...
The camera man counts down two and one to himself as he points to the man in the Brown suit.
Brown suited man: Ladies and Gentlemen of across the nation. I want to welcome you to the first of many press conferences from Broncos camp. As you know, after the draft, the new GM of the Broncos made a lot of changed to the team. 15 trades in all. The man is now the new face of the Denver Broncos. I present to you, General Manager, Michael Lael.
The cameramen move there camera's to the same door the man in the man Brown suit. General Manager Lael come in with his hair slicked back and in a black suit. He slowly walks to the podium letting all the cheers and claps sink in. He gets to the podium and shakes the hand of the man in the Brown suit and poses with him for a second. He then stands right behind the podium as the cheers and claps end and he looks around one last time before he begins to speak.
Lael: Thank you Mr. Sparrow. My friend Jack here has been my right hand man during this offseason. He got me a lot of steals in trades. He did a lot of calculating as well as a lot of spur of the moment ideas.
First and foremost, I wanna thank the Commisioner of the League for giving everyone here and myself a chance to be apart of this league. Majority of the owners and fans here that come and go have no clue how much behind the scenes work he puts into this league. For that, I do believe I can speak for each and every reporter in this room as well as the ones that aren't here. Thank you.
There is a brief pause where the reporters clap for the Commisioner. After about 30 seconds GM Lael begins to speak again.
Lael: Now, as other Commisioner have done in suspending, you should do us all a favor and go ahead an suspended L.T. and Larry Johnson for us.
There is a quick pause for a little bit of laughter.
Lael: Okay, let's get down to business, cause I know what you guys are really here for. As you guys know, after the draft ended I took over as the General Manager for the Denver Broncos and quickly got to work. First trade we made was with the Saints. We lost Darrent Williams, Dominique Foxworth and Ben Hamilton and we gained Marques Colston, Charles Grant and Josh Bullocks. I'll talk about the status of those three in a bit.
Our second trade sent our backup Right Tackle George Foster to the Bills for Tutan Reyes and a 3rd round pick. We made that trade because Foster, while he is talented, wouldn't see imediate playing time behind Adam Meadows. We wish Foster the best of luck in Buffalo.
The Saints contacted us again for some defensive players. Ofcourse we didn't see much playing time with them in our rosters, so this worked out for both sides.
Our next trade sent two picks to Atlanta for Kick Return Allen Rossum. He is needed to take the returning job away from Champ Bailey.
Viking got a hold of us in a player for player trade. We sent Kenard Lang and we reciever Ray Edwards, who is expected to get some starts this season.
Atlanta Falcons Middle Lineback Jordan Beck has shown me a lot of potential and I wanted him on my team. Unfortunately his stay in Denver was short. Wasn't expected to be that way.
Some players we got for some of our draft picks are Duane Starks from Oakland. He was needed for depth at Cornerback. Wide Reciever Rod Gardner from Kansas City Chiefs. He'll be seeing a few starts at the beginning of the season. Tight End Eric Johnson from San Francisco 49ers. Rookie Tight End is going to playing #2 Tight End and Eric Johnson will be starting.
We traded away two players for draft picks were Paul Ernester and Nick Ferguson.
Unfortunately for some of our players, they we sent to other teams shortly after getting settled in here. Jordan Beck went to Dallas and we recieve Akin Ayodele to start in our 3-4 scheme.
Marques Colston and Mike Bell were sent New York Giants for Santana Moss and LaVar Arrington for be a starter at Outside Linebacker.
Now, I can't finish talking about what my reasons were until I talk about the biggest trade of the offseason. We sent Tatum Bell, Rod Smith, D.J. Williams, Karl Paymah, Jason Elam 2 1st round picks, 2 2nd round picks, 2 3rd round picks and a 4th round pick. In return we got Michael Turner and Dre Bly. as well as a 1st and 2nd round pick.
We ended the trading season frenzy by sending Dre Bly and Charles Grant for Defenesive End Dwight Freeney and Tim Jennings.
This may sound crazy, but after all that trading, I think we finally found the team that will lead us to the Super Bowl.
Now, I will take any and all questions at this time. Thank you for your patience.
Lael looks at the hands at goes up and points the first one raised.

Who will start at QB this season - Plummer or Cutler?

That questions has had our Quarterback in a frenzy for a while. Jake has been sending me complaints about us drafting a Quarterback in the 1st round like the Steelers did a few years back. But right now, Jake Plummer will be getting the start.

Jake will have as much leighway as he allows himself. Jay Cutler is in no rush to start.

We watched our cap penalties. We know that we were gonna take some big hits, but not major ones. We aren't worried that those cap hits are gonna kill us. We are not planning on trading at all in the next season or two, so i feel this isn't gonna hurt us much.

"Mr.Leal, what are you thinking about some aspects of your teams Offense and Defense?
I mean your team will switch to a 3-4 Defense and when I look at the strength of your DL I have my doubts that they will be good enough to create any kind of pass rush or run stop, except DE Freeney. But is it possible that you have too much faith in him for he DL? But can he be really successful with the players surrounding him in the DL?
And isnt the loss of CB Dre Bly huge blow for your teams Secondary and will make passing on your team a good option? How do you plan on compensating his loss for this season?
And one word to your Receiving corps please. Dont you think that another playmaking WR is needed to help out your QBs?

I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'
Mr. Lael, given the cap situation your frequent trading has gotten you into, do you plan to retain such key acquisitions as Michael Turner, Eric Johnson and Dwight Freeney, all of whom are on the last year of their contracts, or replace them with draft picks and cheaper free-agent signings in the offseason?

First... I want to make a small correction... LAEL. Second, the Broncos were running a 3-4 defense before I took them over, and I do believe Freeney is going to cause a lot of disruption in the running and passing game. Also having a very strong Linebacking group is gonna to make even the smallest holes in the line that much hard to break through. We have some of the best linebackers in the league.
About Dre Bly, yeah, I traded a lot for him, and disappointed to see him go, but looking at Tim Jennings, who will be getting the start right away, doesn't scare me enough with have Josh Bullocks right behind him. I have faith in my defense, if not, I wouldn't have traded Bly.
Sinorice Moss is going to be just like Santana, in the aspect of getting open deep from breaking off defenders quick. I don't imagine Sinorice become a legend his rookie season, but I do think he'll put up some good numbers.

Well, Michael Turner is going to be a Restricted Free Agent, and unless someone is gonna fork over a 1st and 3rd for him and us not wanting to try and match his offer, I think he's safe for one more year.
Dwight Freeney will be getting the Franchise tag. Someone is gonna have to give up 2 1st round picks on him to get him, as well as us not trying to match the offer.
Eric Johnson will be going into Free Agency where we are gonna try and get him back.
Any other questions?

Mr Lael, your team at the start of your reign was a potential championship contender, why is it that you found yourself so actively trading? And as a follow up question, trading players you traded to get?

While being a potential championship contender right off the back, there was also rumors that we weren't even close to contenders. So I kept looking to see if I could get the best of everything I could. I'm more satisfied now with my team then I was when I first stated.
