Their may already be an edit button Im unaware of, but that would be very invaluable. Especially when you put something down incorrectly...

It shouldnt pop up at all.
A long time ago it was possible on the boards, but Cash got rid of it except for Mods in order to encourage people to think before they post.
If you need to make an edit you can always use the automerge double post feature to make it clear what you mean.

I still might put a 5 minute time limit edit feature in or something at some point.. the problem is people go back and edit something they said a long time ago and then say "I never said that"..

I am personally against a edit feature.
People will then feel its ok to say all kinds of crap and then try to go back and erase it.
No edit button makes you think before you say something.
I learned that the hard way.

I'm with Disturbed on this, you should think before your post, maybe even re-read it a couple times, it could even end up cutting our spelling mistakes. Shouldn't posts take longer consideration than like, less than a minute?

I'm with it because people make mistakes with videos and links. And instead of cash running around and editing everyones post, that user can fix there own mistakes.

I am too against a general edit feature for the same reasons as anyone else. But I would like the idea with the 5 mins of limit to edit own posts. That would really help, especially me...

a few weeks ago I put an article in the incorrect place. I don't do it often, but I'd rather not bother mods with my trivial crap, ya know? Everyone is bound to make craptastic mistakes, I just would like to be able to edit that. As far as for making stupid asertions (i.e. Vernon Davis being a bust), yeah I'll stand by those. But I understand the flipside of things. If I go back and edit something like that then obviously someone will call me on that. I think if something like that does happen perhaps we could take a bank hit? Not sure. Though I think the edit button a necessary evil at time.
