Well, I go to a laser quest forum so I can keep up to date on what's going on at my center and what's going on at LQ period. One thing that the admins did there, which was flawed by the fact that anyone can do anything on that forum, unlike this place where everything is modded and modded correctly.
What I'm thinking is that if you can Cash do a hack for the boards, you have 'Owner Ratings' of the players, which can be put in by other owners. This will let us know how we are doing as an owner. Ratings could be on a 1-10 bases and have about 10 different ratings figuring this would make it easy to make a good overall rating.
Have like:
Spelling & Grammer
Reputaion.
Knowledge of the rules
Knowledge of other owners
Etc.
I could come up with more, but I'd like to how you feel about this idea.

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
It could be used for both. I think it'd be harder to do with just board members because people come and go, unless you can add in a minimum post count with it so spammers don't come in and just mess with the ratings.

Well, I guess I put this in the wrong section of the board. I just figured since it was a suggestion and it had to do with the board, I should put it in this forum.

Ohh, yeah, I realise when I went to another page you wanted it on the mainpage, I have no push there, so that won't happen. I understand if you want to delete the link.
My name on there is Raphael.

if it were done for the sim league it would be the owner voting on other owners?
Yes. That's exactly what I am proposing.

I would say yes, but it would turn into something more along the lines of a popularity contest. I think this would actually be better for people to see what owners really think of how they are doing.

This is truly how I think on the matter, I would think it would just start mud throwing and all of this unnecessary stuff.
Why would you think that. If everyone is HONESTLY doing well in the league as an owner, then there shouldn't be any problems.
See, the way I've always seen the way we look at owners is we need to weed out the weak ones, and if someone has a low Overall Rating as a owner, they should know what they're weaknesses are and should 'try' and to improve them and improve his Overall Ratings. You try and keep the best on your team, and get rid of the weak ones.

Well its a nice idea in principle, but I think ultimately, the occasional ones done from Cash will be far more accurate..
At the end of the day, whilst I can see how intelligent a guy is, or how well he conducts himself round the board and league...I ultimately cant tell how on top of his sliders he is and things like that, which contribute massively into making someone a good or bad owner..

Well I didn't know really what they were like, I suppose if EVERYONE RATES HONESTLY as well there shouldn't be any problemos...

<shrugs> I have no real desire to promote the idea as good or bad. It is what it is, and doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

I think it would be better to leave it anonymous, that way you really can't single out one person.
See, I don't get it, we all have opinions about how we feel about other owners on how they could get better, but when I find a way for us to tell them without them getting directly upset, everyone sees harm in it.
They way it should be done is that you can change it whenever you want (or maybe in MB's Sim League case, every 8 weeks or after every progression, that way the weak can show there case to survive. If someone's rating doesn't improve by a certain time, they should be dismissed from the league.
I mean really, I can come up with a lot more reasons this is a great idea.

As long as it is anonymous I don't see why there's a problem. If an owner doesn't like the way the board sees him, then he should change the way he conducts himself. If he decides to throw a fit and become bitter, then he is just as bad an owner as we all thought and we're all proved right. Win-win.

I'd assume it would be more of a rating scale, or premade statements with radio buttons, that each owner would be graded on. Otherwise peoples posting patterns can be picked up on if it's to remain anonymous.
Or perhaps there be only one or two people that see "essays" that put the collective thoughts into their own words and PM'd to whatever owner.
<shrugs> Throwing ideas out there.

Even if I see some things that could lead to problems between owners I think this could be a good idea.
Maybe one other category would be 'seeing and working on teams weaknesses'
