Chess room?
Hi all, this is not really something important or so, just a little question or request...
I like to play Chess. Maybe other do too...
Would it be possible to have a chess room here where we can be waiting for games or so if we are on Maddenboard and do a little chat next to it?
What do others think of that?

I dont know that there is a hack to put it on the board and I doubt you would find enough people on at the same time willing to play. Might have better luck just meeting up at another place like the Game Zone.
But I know Cash likes Chess so maybe

Seems kind of odd, but I don't think it would hurt. Of course, I imagine Cash is pretty busy with the League right now, so it'd likely be something put in after the season is going full throttle, so to speak.
I think it wouldn't hurt. I like Chess, but I'm somewhat of a novice at it by most standards. Know all the moves and some very basic strategies but I'm still not very good at planning ahead my moves in advance for chess. I'm the kind of the person that bases their strategy off what I feel in the moment, as opposed to thinking ahead - which doesn't always bode well for Chess.

Id be interested, ive been practicing on my computer (just found out ihad ches). But i suck, can only plan a move or so ahead. I cant even beat level 1 or 2 out of 10.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm pretty good at chess. Unless the "Hard" level on my phone isn't really that good. Anyway it sounds like a good idea if it could be done easily and cheaply.

Lol! See, this is why we missed you not posting as much Lobo!
I bet Disturbed would be interested in Chess to, he seems like the type who would into it. Could easily be wrong on that, but he likes his Football Sims, so it's in essence somewhat similar if you think about it.
I suppose this all is based on whether or not Cash would even be able to put this on the boards. I think what I mean is as Chaos mentioned the board might not support it. At least I think that's what you meant?

see...there's a difference in "liking" chess and being "good" at it. I liek to chess and like to play, but what was told to me a few months ago when I played somone that is "good" at chess...I SUCK! That dude could think about 10 moves ahead and I was like..how in the hell does he do that. So with that said...I'll place me under "so-so" and "enjoy" to play.

Well I dont really play at all, but it can be alright every once in a while. Dont know any strategies or anything, I think about my move and what they might do next and think what I will do then..Or try and lure them into doing something, and thats about as far as my chess skills go.
It would be pretty cool to have though..

Well, since it seems most of us seem to suck at Chess we'd probably have some really competitive games going! Haha.
I'm not sure where you'd find a good chess game that can be played via two people over the Internet, though. It'd probably be easy to find a Java one that can you can play against an AI, but I'm not sure about one where two people can play agains | |
