How much will Barry Bonds' eventual 756th home-run ball be worth to the fan who retrieves it? At least $1 million.
A Dallas auction house has offered a $1 million bounty for the historic ball.
"We invite the lucky owner who delivers this historic baseball, as verified by Major League Baseball, to redeem it for a $1 million bounty at a Dallas news conference within 15 days of the record-breaking homer," Chris Ivy, drector of Sports Auctions for Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, said Sunday.
Bonds, who has 11 home runs this season, is just 11 homers shy of breaking Hank Aaron's all-time record of 755 home runs.
"The baseball that sets the mark could truly be considered 'priceless,' but we expect that $1 million dollars will be very tempting to the fan who catches that ball." Ivy said.
Thats one way to make sure Barry doesn't get the ball after his breaks the record. I sure as hell wouldn't offer the ball back to Bonds when I could give it to an auction house for a cool million.
The simple fact is that he is a over rated piece of **** that can't cover. He makes bad reads on routes and lacks the ability to recover when he is beaten.
For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
I'm willing to bet that when he gets closer to that mark, the stands will start to fill up more and more and there won't really be a crap area where nobody is sitting. Or at least not in right, which is where he tends to hit a lot of his HR's anyways...

Someone is going to get killed for that ball. I'd hope it'd be like in a crap area where nobody is sitting so there isn't a stuggle.
Even then, the problem is IF you get that ball you still have to get out of the stadium ALIVE with it lol.
They will bring security guards over to escort you out usually, unless you already take off out of the stadium.

if you then became the all-time home run leader, you wouldnt want the ball... im just different i guess... that would be like the ultimate gift to your grandkids, "grandpa's good 'ole all-time hr record setting ball" lol

Nope, (as the player) I'd just get my hands on one of my next HR balls...it's still record-setting, just not the "big one". Even then, why not just give them the bat that hit it?

why not someone take barry out so he doesnt even get the record ...i mean he doesnt deserve it
Thats messed up. How does he not deserve it? I see him out there every game playing for his team and doing what he gets paid to do. He busted his butt for years and you say he doesn't deserve the record? Thats b/s.
As for the bay drownings, I wouldn't doubt that lmao.
you think he deserves it..why dont you sit back and think about this...he has admitted to using some form of steroids in his career...so i ask you...would he have accomplished this feat had he not taken those? Hank Aaron did it battling race and prejusdice....Babe Ruth's steroids were hot dog and beer...so no Barry doesnt deserve it
lol, woooooopy. If you went by that mark, how many other hall of fame players or record setters took them as well? How about ALL their awards are taken away as well. Atleast he ADMITTED to using them at some point. It also doesn't mean he ALWAYS used them.
Now if he used them for like 75% of his career, I could understand your point but otherwise I think your talking about of your *** right now and its wrong.
He also had more high tech shoes and bat and gloves and....

I just find it funny that the commish says he won't be on hand when Bonds breaks the record.
Aaron says he will be as far away as possible.
Steroids has totally tainted the game and its sad. If they would just make them legal and have doctors monitor the use of them then this would be a totally mute point.
One simple thing lets you know he used something (probably HGH). He went from a size 10 1/2 shoe size to a 13 after joining the Giants. At his age your foot doesn't grow 2 1/2 inches.
Nope, (as the player) I'd just get my hands on one of my next HR balls...it's still record-setting, just not the "big one". Even then, why not just give them the bat that hit it?
well is it the other hall of famers faults that barry is a dumbass and admits to cheating...like the old expression goes...it aint cheating unless yo get caught...and Barry's been caught
So dont give me this b/s about Barry deserving the record when all he does is go out there and ***** about his legs, walks down to first 3 out of 4 times in a game and doesnt even talk to the press....Barry is a douchebag
Im not a fan of Bonds and would prefer to not see him break the record. Just wanted to say that.
As far as him admitting to using them, when did he do that?
All I know is he said he used something that his trainer gave him and if they were steriods (which we now know they were) he had no idea. Most people believe he is full of crap, but if he did admit to cheating he wouldn't be playing right now.
I keep seeing people say he admitted to doing steroids . All I am asking for is proof that he did admit to it.
Wow, that's a lot of money for a baseball. I think it'd be funny if he hit it out of the park and it went right through someones windshield. Some guy would just go to his car, be mad, then realize he can just buy a new car with the money.
As for the $1 million, thats a rip. That guy is going to turn around and sell that ball at an auction and START the bid at $1 million. I would not sell that ball for a simple $1 million....not at all.
That is the point... nobody (except the sports writers and baseball 'purests') give a damn...
Wait... are you talking about the Home Run record, or baseball? Either way, I think you're right. Baseball doesn't have the same appeal it used to have, so really I think the only people that enjoy watching baseball are those baseball purists. So why not give them what they want? It actually matters to them. Or if you're going to give it to him, give him an asterisk in the record books.
