As you should know the All-Star game was today. Great game, closer than I thought it would be. AL won again.... eventually the NL will win though. Anyone else watch it?

Actually, if Wagner was in it like he should have been over bums like Turnbow and Fuentes, we might have won.
Horrible job managing by Phil Garner. You can't have proven vets like Scott Rolen, Andruw Jones, Nomar, Carpenter, Schmidt, and Carlos Zambrano not even get in the game...those were some of our best players.
Wow Garner sucks as an all star manager. I thought the point was to get the guys in the All Star game. Hell Zambrano would have been a better option to close than overrated hoffman.
The guys left on the bench is ridiculous unless they had injuries they were trying to rest. Those guys there could have helped the NL win possibly but who really knows. I just think its terrible they didnt play their guys.
Like Short said.. how the hell don't you get those guys in the game. You let friggen Carlos Beltran play the whole game and Andruw Jones doesn't even get an at bat? What about Scott Rolen? He makes that play at third I believe. I couldn't believe it. Horrible Job managing.. and the starting lineup (Like Batting Order Wise), was horrible.. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Braves Fan.. But Renteria batting fifth? Come on now..

Rolen makes that play, no question. Cabrera is a fat piece of trash who not only plays lazy, but plays horrendus defense even when he's trying. At the very least he should have put in Rolen as a defensive replacement in the 9th inning.
Beltran shouldn't have been in the whole game...I mean I'm a Mets fan, and he did get on base 3 times, but you need to get Andruw in that game.
And that batting order...what the hell was he thinking? Renteria batting ahead of Wright? Renteria wasn't even supposed to start, how did he make his way into the heart of the lineup?
And even picking players...why were Fuentes and Turnbow there and not Wagner? Don't get me wrong, Fuentes and Turnbow did great...but they shouldn't have been there to begin with.
I think Fuentes was a good pick to play in the game because he was used in a situtaion that was perfect for him. Cabrera is a LF in my book, not a third basmen. I agree with you on Rolen would make that play. As far as Beltran, no one should play the whole game in the all-star game. Especially with somebody as good as Jones behind him.

I gots to stand up fo my boy Turnbow. I know he did a horrible job allowing that one hit, but come on now.

I guess I was kinda angry when I said that, LOL. I said this today...

But my point was that Wagner probably would have came in and saved the game...Hoffman is no good in big time situations like that.
Hoffman is too old to be anywhere near as effective as he used to be.
Well...in his defense he's got 24 saves and a 1.03 ERA, and may just be an NL Cy Young candidate. But he's never exactly been great in the national spotlight.
I wouldn't say Paplebon is one of the best closers in the league yet...too early for that, after only seeing him play for half a season. Who knows, he could have a Chris Reitsma-like half in the 2nd half of the season .

I really think they need to do away with the home field advantage beign given to the conference that wins this game.
I think the team in the World Series that had the best regular season record should get the home field advantage. Isnt that why they play 162 games? To determine who are the best teams? So why does some bad hair piece wearing dipwad like Selig think that the All Star game matters? It doesnt and it shouldnt factor into anything that involves giving teams home field advantage.
Selig isn't a very good Comish any way, he is the one who enjoys making rules to help his "daguhter's" team and it took him a while to take care of steriods, didn't do that right. I also don't like his Pete Rose thing but that's another argument.

Well I found a reason as to why one player didnt play for the National league.
Quote:
Zambrano, who missed pitching in the All-Star game on Tuesday night after he was hit in the right elbow by the fungo bat of White Sox third base coach Joey Cora during pregame drills, allowed just three base runners - two walks and an error- in the first five innings.
But what about the other guys? Garner is still a schmuck for leaving all those guys on the bench. Heck youd think with a couple of them in his own division he woudl have played them more to make the tired haha.

Yeah well..I loved him night before last!!! woooohoooo
Blowingh that save against my Braves...which are now back in 2nd place...only 12 GB!

Yeah...Beltran got hurt in the 9th inning and is missing some time now. Not that Beltran isn't the softest player EVER...but Garner is still a schmuck...
