no its not Arods fault entirley. If you dont have pitching, then you will never win. Yankees have some pitching but for the most part its pretty average at best. You get 10 runs a game is good but if you give up 15 well then you do the math

what I don't understand is why didn't another team pursue him? The Yanks don't "NEED" him. With him there, Bernie Williams now takes a back seat and becomes just a role player. Which reminds me too...they signed Bernie to a 1 year deal...come on, let some other teams have good players too!!!

Bernie is at the end of the road. He was absolutely horrible in CF last season and he will probably be a part time DH for them this season. They did need a CF.
Im sure some other teams did pursue him, but you can't blame him for choosing the Yankees.

Actually, the Yankees did "need" a CF, thats definite. Bernie is too old and slow to play there anymore, and his signing was really more of a sympathy thing, so he can retire a Yankee. The other option would be Bubba Crosby, who actually isn't too bad, but you know the Yanks, they don't give their young guys a chance.
And of course, the Yanks got their way (like always), and got the top CF and probably top FA of the offseason.
Can't really blame Damon for taking the $$$...but I can still hate him...
