Jorge Sosa?
What do you guys think of him? Braves traded 2B Nick Green for him a while ago for a Reliever Jorge Sosa. The Braves moved him to SP and he is now 7-1 with a 2.57 era. Do you think he made a successful transition from Reliever to Starting Pitcher

Well he was a starter in Tampa too. He was always considered a starter before a reliever and even in EA baseball hes listed as a starting pitcher.
The braves always find pitching and do well with other teams talent when they are able to land them.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Lets go Mets!
It pisses me off how the Braves get no name guys and they turn into stars, but the Mets get a probable HOFer in Tom Glavine, and he blows...

I think its because of the mets good coaching staff that they are able to turn no namers into good pitchers.
They also have a knack for letting guys go who they feel they can live without. Both Glavine and Avery left and werent the same. In glavines case though I think its because he never gets any run support. If you team dont score for you you will not win so cant blame it all on glavine there. What the heck happened to Beltran? Maybe its just a Met thing lol

I believe the Braves should've traded Sosa at the deadline and got something for him while his value was this high..Sosa has been very good so far this season, but lets face it..he's not going to keep producing these type of numbers for us in the future..While I think he will be a very good reliever when Hampton and Thomson come back, I wish we had gotten something in more value for him at the deadline.

I think that Horacio Ramirez should go into the bullpen. Or expirement with it. Because what his last 3 games have been loses and they have had a double diget score.

3 losses doesn't mean someone should try the bullpen out..Maybe he's just been in a slump or something? Come on man..just like we should've traded Andruw right?!?

Hey I'm not saying we should trade him. He is a good pitcher and will be. But I just think that if he goes to the bullpen he would be better. Or when Hampton comes back demote him for a week so he can get his control back

Well Horacio's past 3 starts have been pretty solid..and Hampton is back on the DL, so we won't see this happening..Our rotation should be as follows:
Smoltz, Hudson, Thomson, Ramirez.. Sosa as the 5th starter but come time for playoffs move him back to the pen and go with the 4 man rotation, maybe even 3 man if they have the days off that would be needed to pull it off.

Saw an interview with Bobby Cox on Fox Sports South earlier this week and they talked about Sosa. The only problem that worries the Braves is that he has a tendency to walk too many batters. So far he has been able to pitch himself out of the jams in most situations but anyone who has followed the Braves (as I have for most of my life) know that Cox and Mazzone don't have a lot of patience with pitchers who lack control.
