Okay... I live in Va Beach... Jason Upton lives a city away... now picture this.
Your Jason Upton, MLB number 1 pick. You are the best baseball player this year out of all high schoolers. You win a lot of awards. Except 1....
Jason Upton did not win the Virginia High School Athlete of the year.
He finished second to the Number 1 Football player, a junior out of Landstown High School... which I will be going to this summer. Percy Hopkins I think is his name. Now, this guy set a state finals record in Virgninia with 4 touchdowns... I'll give you guys more info about him another time...
But if you think about... #1 Draft pick and not even number one player in VA this year...
how would you feel

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
I could care less, cause I got drafted #1 in the MLB Draft. Another thing is, You can't compare #1 and #2 if they are different sports. Plus, being #2 "sports" player of the year for a state isn't bad either. So all in all, it's not a bad situation.
Had the other guy been a baseball player too, and Upton went first and the other guy went second or later, then for the #1 player, I'd be upset. But that's not the case.
I gotta agree with Swoosh. I really wouldn't care, I'd just say "Whatever, I'm the #1 pick," and shake it off.

Awards like #1 overall in the state means nothing to me. Some of those players never pan out to be anything in which ever sport they chose. They end up having a great High School career and maybe a ok College career. Some never even make it pro. So in my opinion I could care less. I would be happy just to know that I'd been picked #1 for the pro sport I was shooting for. Plus I'll be getting paid sooner than the guy thats #1 in the state.
the guy he lost to, his name is Percy Harvin, and is considered the number 1 college prospect in the US...
I met the guy who is the number 2 WR for his team, and I've seen clips of both...
Honestly, the guy who plays number 2, Damon McDaniel, is a pretty good WR. Percy will make it to the NFL hands down though...
