Yankees.

I am a Yankees fan as I know now adays not to many people are. The Yankees win to many games, they buy every player, are some of the things people say about them, but think about this. The Yankees are exciting and if they werent around to buy out all the players what would Red Sox fans have to whine about? Exactly nothing. So everyone please tell me why the Yankees are so stupid.

I don't think stupid covers it.

The thing that annoys me the most about Yankess fans, is that in general, they believe that baseball would falter and fall apart without them. That they NEED to be doing, what they are doing or the baseball world would cease to exist.

Watching the Yankess is like watching Nascar (which I hate). Everyone watches to see the crash. That's the only exciting thing about the Yankess. Waiting for the blow up. If it's not George, then it's the team loosing. <insert sarcasm> Because yes, it's always exciting to watch a $200 million team beat a $30 million team, that's quality entertainment there </end sarcasm>.

I don't hate the Yankees. I hate baseball economics. I hate Yankees fans who think they are better than everyone else. Everyone says Joe Torre is such a great manager, but if he is so great why haven't the Yankees won the World Series the last few years with a payroll that is basically double anyone elses in baseball? Give Bobby Cox the Yankees and I would bet they would have won 2 or 3 more World Series.

The Yankees are the best team money can buy. I think thats what bothers most people. They take advantage of the smaller markets that can't pay a star player and sign them away year after year. Like Jason Giambi. Say what you want to about him now, but when the Yankees signed him he was the MVP. The A's wanted to keep him but couldn't come close to what the Yankees were offering. I don't blame George for spending the money. I blame baseball. They are the ones that have no salary structure in place that would help the smaller market teams.

Yankees look damn good on paper, but can't do crap on the field. THANK GOD, cause I am a Braves fan and I have ANTI Yankee blood in me. Plus I've lived in NY for a very long year, and it seems baseball doesn't exist outside their little world.

In New York, it's not about baseball, but it's about a business and money and how much can ya get. I hate the Red Rox too, but I loved it last year when they became the first team EVER to come from 3-0 and win a series..then last night, piling up 27 hits and 17 runs on that over paid, OVERrated yankees team....eerrr, not team, but "coorperation".

Bottom line, with the Yankees lineup, they are expected to win 162 games of the regular season and they should, but they don't, and they hate it when they lose...GO BRAVES!!!

I used to like the Yankees once upon a time but now I don't. They think they are the best thing since sliced bread. No one likes a team who has a chip on their shoulders. A little bit of a swagger maybe but they take things a little to far. Plus George is a idiot. I don't care how much hitting u have if u have no pitching u want go far. Mussina's done, Brown hasn't played well for them until the last few weeks. The only consistent pitcher they have is Johnson. Like Swoosh said go Braves!!!!!

I don't think the Yanks are stupid. Steinbrenner is smart to buy out all the players, it's just the fact that he buys out all the players that I hate. My favorite team (the Royals) has no chance to compete because their market is just trash. They can never beat a team with a salary like that...

And honestly... I don't care what the Red Sox fans whine about. The Red Sox whining does nothing for me. I don't even like them, I think they're just as bad as the Yankees. They have no farm system either, and their payroll is #2 I think... can't be too far behind. They just don't win as often and Fox had to portray them as the big time underdogs. But I do like the way they beat the Yankees in that series.

Yankes got outscored 24-3 in the last two games against the Red Sox. I see some anti Red Sox comments but honestly their one of the only teams that keeps the Yankees in check.

I feel bad for Oakland who couldn't get it done with the Big 3 pitching. I mean Oakland produces SO MUCH talent only to have them bought out by other teams. I mean can you think of a team who has lost more quality players than Oakland. Giambi, Tejada, Hudson, Mulder, etc

ARod and DJeter get paid more than the combined Nationals roster. Enough said.

where did you get that proof i don't belive it, the Nationials payroll is 50 mil. Anyways like Stallion said my favourite team (Blue Jays) I won't say have no chance (1992,1993 World Champions) but it's declined rapidly. I think every team should play every team the same number of times so Toronto does not have to play the Yankees more than Washington.

The exact numbers I don't know, and am too lazy to search for them. Early in the year when the Nationals were in first place, and the Yanks were bombing in last place, ESPN Sportscenter put up a stat where ARod was getting paid like 26 mil this year and Jeter 24. Something like that. And, yes, the Nats payroll is 50 mil.

There are several teams like that. The team that comes to my mind is the 90's Expos, when they had Larry Walker, Perdo Martinez, ect.... That would have been one hell of a team, had they been able to afford to keep them together.

I was just looking through this post and I just got done watching the Yankee's lose 3 to the Royals I guess they can compete. I have read all the other responses and I must say they don't need pitching they need a new Manager Torre is crap. He has been there to long and has gotten to comfortable so he thinks he can slack off. Well I think the Yanks shoucl get hi out of there and into a wheel chair.
