Brian Roberts
great start for his career, and i hate when people see thsi and automatically say steriods. Hes doing great with 8 hrs, .367 avg, 27 rbi's, 23 runs, and 12 stolen bases. He will probably get 20-40. He will cool down a little but will have a great season.

oh but hes not, he hit so many doubles last year, he worked out this year and got a little stronger, fine if hes on roids than arod is on roids, pujols is on roids, and vlad is on roids.

There are plenty of things players can use to get stronger that the league still doesn't test for, so he could be on them. My opinion though. He is a good doubles hitter who is just hitting the ball well right now. |

I remember Brady... he was in Indianapolis playing in a minor league game one time and hit 3 homers... it was insane.

Roberts is pretty good, he's going to be a really good player in a couple years if ya ask me. I don't think he is on roids though ty, just a pretty good hitter.

yeah i agree he is just a good hitter he has always had this kind of potential but now that the O's are putting hitters in the line-up around him hes getting good pitches to hit and he will probably cool off.

I was watching ESPN which I do A lot and they were talking about Brian Roberts and the way he is hitting the ball. Im not sure of what exactly was said but it was something along the lines that over 80% of the pitches he has seen this year so far have been fastballs. The reasoning they gave was that with Tejada , Sosa, and the other big bats in that line up they go after the "weaker" hitting Roberts with fastballs because they don't want to walk him setting up the big boys.

it's pretty simple....when the 2 3 and 4 hitters are Melvin Mora, Miggie Tejada, and Sammy Sosa you will get ALOT or hittable pitches like someone said earlier because those guys are each capable of driving in 100 plus a season....not to mention they don't want to walk him because be also steals bases......

I am in the Baltimore area and I have not heard any talk of Roberts and steroids. He's doing better because he doesnt have Jerry Hairston, who the club previously invested a lot in, breathing down his neck. The other reasons were the lineup, as mentioned, and the staff has let him hit with free reign this year.
